Hyderabad: Thirty-two-year-old Body builder Raja Narendra brought laurels to Hyderabad by winning the prestigious International Physique League which was held in California. Raja won the titles for being the Best Body Builder and the Best Sports Model.
He had already won two medals in the All India National Championship and secured ten State level gold medals before competing at the international level.
Raja worked 16 months for the International Physique League. “For those 16 months, I focused on my workout. Life revolved mostly around the gym,” Raja said.
“While my preparations were in full swing, I struggled for funds for travel and accommodation, etc. By a stroke of luck, a few people came forward to sponsor my tickets, accommodation, and all other expenses,” he added.
Raja started his career in Bodybuilding and Weightlifting at the age of 14. “My father wanted to be a sportsperson, but he couldn’t. So he encouraged me to take to bodybuilding,” said Raja, who adds that money is a still concern as he need a good diet to maintain his body.
