At a massive rally in Aligarh, Congress Vice President asked the people if the present government of Uttar Pradesh had delivered on its promises and received a resounding 'no' in reply. He told the gathering to put pressure on the Samajwadi Party to implement Right To Food in the state.
He reminded the people of how the Congress had fought for their land and rights, and ultimately got the Land Acquisition Bill passed in spite of the opposition. While the SP government was running a 'computer ki sarkaar' the UPA had created an 'adhikaar ki sarkaar' in the country.

He was speaking at an event in which Malikana Haq (Ownership Rights) were given to residents of 45 resettlement colonies. The move will benefit as many as 15 lakh people.
These colonies were developed in 1970s and people putting up there have been finding it difficult to effect transfer of title as free hold rights were not offered yet. There are 45 resettlement colonies in the city, which are home to lakhs of people. Last year Congress president Sonia Gandhi had issued provisional certificates of regularisation to unauthorised colonies.
