Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi joined activists from the Northeastern states who were sitting on a candle light vigil, at Jantar Mantar, demanding justice for Nido Taniam. Addressing the protestors, Rahul Gandhi said, 'I think what happened was completely unacceptable and I understand your sentiment one hundred per cent. You have mentioned to me what you are looking for. You are looking for a Committee and you are looking for strict action.'
'We have already started work on both these fronts. So you can expect very strict action against the people who did this, and you can expect a detailed study done by a Committee on the issues of people from North East,' Rahul Gandhi said.
'There is only one India that matters to me, and that India is an India where every single person has respect, has justice and is treated fairly.'
