I was driving home from the Hogan party where Dennis Hopper was signing his new book. I live near Trocadero which overlooks the Eiffel Tower. As I was driving around that huge 'rond point' I noticed out of the corner of my eye that the Eiffel Tower was not looking the same as usual. My faithful neighbor who never fails to make me smile whenever I drive by her had another allure. She was ready to PARTY! That's when I remembered that at 9pm was the first lightshow to celebrate her 120th birthday! I quickly stopped my car, parked it illegally in a bus stop and grabbed my Canon Ixus digital camera that was still in my pocket. I was so lucky because I arrived just as the light show was about to begin. There were so many people! Everyone was so excited. I had so much fun and I was in AWE! Actually the whole time I was filming, I was on my iphone with my best friend who couldn't see the show. I was describing every detail to her. That is why I cut all that bla bla out and added great music and I edited the show on Final Cut so hopefully you will feel some of the emotion that I felt that night! I sped up the show in certain parts but I didn't cut anything. So what you see is exactly the same as the real thing. But this is more fun because in this video the Eiffel Tower seems to dance to the music... music by Usual Masters 'Nocturne in Paris' and Grace Jones 'La Vie en Rose'.

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe was born on March 27th, 1886 in Aachen, Germany. He was an architect. He was regarded as one out of three pioneering masters of Modern Architecture. Van der Rohe sought to establish a completely new architecture style to represent modern times. Today it's his 126th Birthday, and Google celebrates this day with a special Doodle.
It shows a picture of one of the mature buildings he made, the 'Crown Hall', located at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

Erwin Schrodinger's 126th birthday is the subject of Monday's Google doodle in select countries across the globe. The doodle depicts Austrian physicist's famous thought experiment, Schrodinger's cat, and a quantum mechanics equation.
Erwin Schrodinger was born on August 12, 1887 in Vienna, Austria, to Rudolf Schrodinger and Georgine Emilia Brenda. After being tutored at home, Erwin Schrodinger studied in Vienna under Franz S. Exner and Friedrich Hasenohrl. By 1911, he was assisting Exner.
He also enrolled in military service for a period of four years after writing his thesis and achieving habilitation. After several stints at universities in Jena, Stuttgart, Zurich and Berlin, Schrodinger decided to leave Germany and became a Fellow of Magdalen College at the University of Oxford. After that, he also had a stint at Princeton University. He returned to Austria in 1936 and took a position at the University of Graz.
Erwin Schrodinger's political stance lead to problems with the German university and fled to Italy with his wife. He moved to Dublin, Ireland in the same year and stayed there for 17 years, before returning to Vienna in 1956.
