...पिछले कुछ दिनों में कैलिफोर्निया की कई मस्जिदों को भेजे गए नफरत भरे पत्रों में एक तरफ जहां मुसलमानों के खात्मे की बात की गई है, तो वहीं राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप के तारीफों के पुल बांधे गये हैं। इस घटना के बाद काउंसिल ऑन अमेरिकन-इस्लामिक रिलेशंस ने स्थानीय मस्जिदों के लिए सुरक्षा बढ़ाने का आह्वान किया है। लॉस एंजिलिस टाइम्स की मानें तो हाथ से लिखे धमकी भरे पत्रों को ‘शैतान के बच्चों' को संबोधित किया गया है और मुसलमानों को ‘नीच और गंदा' करार दिया गया है। इसके साथ ही पत्र में लिखा है कि ‘तुम लोगों की उल्टी गिनती शुरू हो गयी है। बहरहाल एफबीआई के नये आंकड़ों के अनुसार साल 2015 में मुस्लिम विरोधी घटनाओं में 67 फीसदी का इजाफा हुआ। पिछले साल मुसलमानों के खिलाफ पक्षपात के 257 मामले सामने आये थे, जबकि 2014 में ऐसे मामलों की संख्या 154 थी।
