Aero India 2019- Asia's largest air show opens with a tribute to Wing Commander Gandhi

The 12th edition of Air show 'Aero India-2019' began in Bengaluru on 20th February. Sixty-one aircraft are on display, and 403 exhibitors are participating in Aero India show this year at Yelahanka Air Force station. Aero India started on an ominous note with the death of Wing Commander Sahil Gandhi of the IAF's Surya Kiran team a day before in a mid-air collision while practising aerobatic manoeuvres. A 'missing man' formation of three IAF fighter jets — a Sukhoi-30 fighter flanked by a Jaguar and a Tejas light combat aircraft flew to honour Gandhi at the inaugural fly-past. Watch
