എട്ടു വര്ഷങ്ങള്ക്ക് മുന്പാണ് യുവതിയെ അനില് പാട്ടീല് എന്നയാള് കയ്യില് കരുതിയിരുന്ന ആസിഡ് ഒഴിച്ച് കൊലപ്പെടുത്താന് ശ്രമിച്ചത്. 2010ല് നടന്ന സംഭവത്തിന് 2013 ലാണ് കോടതി ഇയാളെ ജീവപര്യന്തം ശിക്ഷയ്ക്ക് വിധിച്ചത്. ഇതാണ് ഇപ്പോള് എട്ട് വര്ഷത്തെ തടവ് ശിക്ഷയായി കുറച്ച് നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. പെണ്കുട്ടിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിയ്ക്കാമെന്നും യുവതിയുടെ പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക്ക് സര്ജറിക്കായി തന്റെ ത്വക്ക് ദാനം ചെയ്യാമെന്നും ശസ്ത്രക്രിയയുടെ ചെലവ് പൂര്ണമായും വഹിക്കാമെന്നും പ്രതി പറഞ്ഞു. യുവതിയുമായി സംസാരിച്ച പ്രതി ഇരുവരും വിവാഹം കഴിക്കാന് തീരുമാനിച്ച കാര്യം കോടതിയെ അറിയിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു..
വിവാഹശേഷം പെണ്കുട്ടിയുമായി സ്വസ്ഥജീവിതത്തിനുള്ള അവസരമൊരുക്കണമെന്നും താന് ചെയ്ത തെറ്റ് തിരുത്തിയെന്നും പ്രതി കോടതിയില് ഹര്ജി സമര്പ്പിച്ചു. ഇതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തില് ഇയാളെ കോടതി കേസില്നിന്ന് മോചിപ്പിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. എട്ടു വര്ഷമായി ഇയാള് ശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കുകയാണെന്ന നിരീക്ഷണത്തോടെ കോടതി പ്രതിയെ മോചിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.
