Odisha: Shelter home sealed
Fact-finding team of Odisha BJP, led by head of Mahila Morcha, visited the shelter home but it had already been sealed and inmates shifted.
The Dhenkanal Police has sealed a shelter home run by a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO),
A fact-finding team of Odisha Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led by the president of the Mahila Morcha, Prabhati Parida also visited the shelter home to meet inmates and locals. However, concerned the shelter home was sealed and the inmates were shifted to some other place before their arrival.
This is shocking that concerned authorities closed the shelter home and shifted the inmates to somewhere undisclosed place in a hasty manner to hide the truth. We condemn the move of the administration and we demand that the administration should disclose the location and fair inquiry should take place' said BJP leader Lekhasri Samantsinghar.

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a MSME support programme in Delhi on Friday, three Union Ministers kicked off the campaign in as many Odisha districts and asked entrepreneurs to take benefit of facilities including access to credit and market.
While Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan attended a district level programme in Cuttack, Steel Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh was in Puri and Road Transport and Highway and Shipping Minister Mansukh Mandaviya did so at Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district.
The Union Ministers’ programme coincided with a campaign launched by Prime Minister in 100 districts of the country for strengthening the eco system for MSMEs.
Addressing the programme in Cuttack, Pradhan said Cuttack city is synonymous with MSME industry and historic Bali Yatra will begin soon to remember the rich maritime history of Odisha.

Odisha Congress pledges farm loan waiver
OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik attacked the government for not considering much for farmers and stated that the Congress will waive farm loans as soon as possible if in power.
While Congress on Thursday promised to waive off farm loans if voted to power and within five hours of forming Government in Odisha, the ruling BJD said it is not competing with other States in writing off agriculture loans.
Stating that BJD’s proposed Parliament gherao on January 8 demanding hike in minimum support price (MSP) is meant to mislead people of Odisha ahead of elections, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik said the Naveen Patnaik Government has forgotten about farmers in the last 18 years of its tenure.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera said different political parties are promising farm loan waiver in order to compete with each other ahead of the elections but the State government is considering all aspects before moving ahead in this regard.

Naveen Patnaik’s legislators demanded the arrest of former Biju Janata Dal MP Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda for allegedly flying low over the eco-sensitive Chilika lake, a day after the MP’s chopper was seized.
The BJD MLAs disrupted the assembly and then staged a dharna within its premises demanding the arrest of their former colleague for violating environmental norms. On Monday the Puri police had, acting on an FIR lodged by the Chilika Development Authority, seized the R-44 helicopter and locked the hangar it occupies.
