പതിനഞ്ചുവര്‍ഷം പഴക്കമുള്ള വാഹനങ്ങള്‍ നിരത്തിലിറക്കിയാല്‍ ഗതാഗതവകുപ്പ് പിടിച്ചെടുക്കും.പതിനഞ്ചുവര്‍ഷം പഴക്കമുള്ള ഡീസല്‍ വാഹനത്തിന്റെ ഉടമയാണോ നിങ്ങള്‍? വൈകാതെ നിങ്ങളെതേടി ഗതാഗത വകുപ്പിലെ ഒരു ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്‍ എത്തും. ജനവാസ കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലെത്തി ബോധവത്കരണം നടത്തി, 15 വര്‍ഷത്തിലേറെ പഴക്കമുള്ള ഡീസല്‍ വാഹനങ്ങള്‍ ഒഴിവാക്കുന്നതിന് പ്രേരിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ് ലക്ഷ്യം. പഴക്കമേറിയ വാഹനങ്ങള്‍ രാജ്യത്തെ നിരത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് പൂര്‍ണമായും ഒഴിവാക്കാന്‍ ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ട് നടത്തുന്ന ബോധവത്കരണം ആദ്യം തുടങ്ങുന്നത് ഡല്‍ഹിയില്‍നിന്നാണ്. ഡല്‍ഹിയില്‍ ഇതിനകം 15 വര്‍ഷം പഴക്കമുള്ള രണ്ടു ലക്ഷത്തിലേറെ ഡീസല്‍ വാഹനങ്ങളുടെ രജിസ്‌ട്രേഷന്‍ റദ്ദാക്കിയതായി ഗതാഗതവകുപ്പ് അറിയിച്ചു. ഗതാഗത വകുപ്പിലെ ആള്‍ക്ഷാമം മൂലം ആദ്യഘട്ടത്തില്‍ നഗരസഭകളിലെ പഴയ വാഹനങ്ങള്‍ അന്വേഷിച്ചിറങ്ങാനാണ് തീരുമാനം.നഗരസഭകളുടെ നിരത്തുകളില്‍ പഴയ വാഹനങ്ങള്‍ കണ്ടാല്‍ പിടിച്ചെടുക്കും. ഇരുചക്ര വാഹനങ്ങള്‍, മുചക്ര വാഹനങ്ങള്‍, കാറുകള്‍ എന്നിവയെല്ലാം പിടിച്ചെടുക്കാനാണ് തീരുമാനം. സ്വകാര്യ വാഹനങ്ങളും വാണിജ്യ വാഹനങ്ങളും ഉള്‍പ്പടെ പിടികൂടും. പ്രത്യേകം തയ്യാറാക്കിയ സോഫ്റ്റ് വെയര്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ചായിരിക്കും വാഹനങ്ങളുടെ രജിസ്‌ട്രേഷന്‍ വിവരങ്ങള്‍ കണ്ടെത്തുക.

2006നുമുമ്പ് രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്ത, യൂറോ നാല് നിബന്ധന പാലിക്കാത്ത പെട്രോള്‍, ഡീസല്‍ വാഹനങ്ങള്‍ക്കാണ് പ്രതിദിനം 10 പൗണ്ട് എന്ന തോതില്‍ നികുതി ചുമത്താന്‍ തീരുമാനമായിരിക്കുന്നത്. രാവിലെ ഏഴുമുതല്‍ വൈകീട്ട് ആറു വരെ നഗരത്തിലോടുന്നവക്കാണ് നിരക്ക് ബാധകമാകുക. ഇതോടൊപ്പം, ഗതാഗതക്കുരുക്ക് നികുതി 11.5 പൗണ്ട് കൂടി ചേര്‍ത്ത് മൊത്തം 21.50 പൗണ്ട് നല്‍കേണ്ടിവരും.
ലണ്ടന്‍ നഗരത്തിന്റെ അന്തരീക്ഷം ശുദ്ധമാക്കാനുള്ള അടിയന്തര നടപടിയാണിതെന്ന് ലണ്ടന്‍ മേയര്‍ സാദിഖ് ഖാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

London Adds Charge for Older Diesel Vehicles to Fight Pollution

In a blow to the diesel vehicle owners in Delhi, the National Green Tribunal has issued a notice to ban all the diesel vehicles plying for over 10 years with immediate effect.
While directing the Delhi RTO to de-register the diesel vehicles, the NGT has also directed to provide the list of deregistered vehicles to the traffic police in the Delhi-NCR region. NGT will hear the diesel matter again on July 20.
