उत्तरी नाइजीरिया के एक बाज़ार में हुए आत्मघाती हमले में 45 लोगों की मौत हो गई है, वहीं इस हमले में 30 लोगों के घायल होने की खबर है। सेना के अनुसार दोनों आत्मघाती हमलावर स्कूली लड़कियां थीं। हालांकि अभी तक किसी भी आतंकी संगठन ने हमले की ज़िम्मेदारी नहीं ली है। लेकिन माना जा रहा है कि इस तरह के हमले अक्सर बोको हराम करवाता रहा है। जहां हमला हुआ है वह इलाका बोको हरम के प्रभाव वाला माना जाता है। हमले के चशमदीद के अनुसार सब्ज़ी बाज़ार के पास दो विस्फोट हुए। विस्फोट से बहुत से लोग घायल हो गये, जिन्हें एम्बुलेंस से अस्पताल ले जाया गया। मदागली स्थानीय सरकार के अध्यक्ष ने हमले की जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि ग्राहकों के रूप में बाज़ार में आईं दो हमलावरों ने बाज़ार के उस हिस्से में अपनी आत्मघाती बेल्टों में विस्फोट कर दिया, जहां अनाज और इस्तेमाल किए गए कपड़े बेचे जा रहे थे। मैडा गली जहां लड़कियों ने हमला किया ,नाइजीरिया की सेना ने 2015 में बोको हराम से लड़ाई के बाद अपने कब्ज़े में ले लिया था।

The mosque is large enough to accommodate over 40,000 worshipers. There are four minarets on the four corners of the courtyard which rise about 107 m (351 ft) in height. The courtyard, with its floral design, measures about 17,000 m2 (180,000 sq ft),and is considered to be the largest example of marble mosaic in the world.
The carpet in the main prayer hall is considered to be the world's largest carpet made by Iran's Carpet Company and designed by Iranian artist Ali Khaliqi.
