New Delhi. The distribution of sports awards for the year 2023 took place today at Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Draupadi Murmu honored all the players and coaches. This time a total of 26 players were honored. Kabaddi player Ritu Negi from Giripar area of Sirmaur district of Himachal has been awarded the Arjuna Award. Ritu Negi is currently the captain of the Indian women's Kabaddi team.

ഏഷ്യന് ഗെയിംസില് ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്കുവേണ്ടി വെള്ളി മെഡല് നേടിയ ബോക്സറാണ് ഹരിയാനയിലെ ഭിവാനി തെരുവില് വെയിലത്ത് കുല്ഫി ഉണ്ടാക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത് . പക്ഷെ ദിനേശ് കുല്ഫി എന്നു പേരിട്ട കുഞ്ഞ് ഉന്തുവണ്ടിയില് നിന്ന് കുല്ഫി വാങ്ങി കഴിച്ചവര് അറിഞ്ഞില്ല രാജ്യം അര്ജുന അവാര്ഡ് നല്കി ആദരിച്ച ഒരു കായികതാരമാണിതെന്ന്.2010ലെ ഗ്വാങ്ഷു ഏഷ്യന് ഗെയിംസിലാണ് ദിനേശ് കുമാര് 81 കിലോഗ്രാം ലൈറ്റ് ഹെവിവെയ്റ്റ് വിഭാഗം ബോക്സിങ്ങില് ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്കുവേണ്ടി വെള്ളി നേടിയത്. ഫൈനലില് ഉസ്ബക്കിസ്താന് താരത്തോട് തോറ്റ് വെള്ളി കൊണ്ട് തൃപ്തിപ്പെടേണ്ടിവന്നെങ്കിലും ദിനേഷ് ഇന്ത്യന് ബോക്സിങ്ങില് വിജേന്ദ്രസിങ്ങിന്റെ പിന്മുറക്കാരനെന്നും പറഞ്ഞാണ് വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടത്.എന്നാല് കോമണ്വെല്ത്ത് ഗെയിംസിനായി ഒരുങ്ങുകയായിരുന്ന ദിനേശിനെ കാത്തിരുന്നത് മറ്റൊന്നാണ്. 2014ല് പട്യാലയില് പരിശീലനം കഴിഞ്ഞ് വീട്ടിലേയ്ക്ക് തിരിച്ചുവരികയായിരുന്ന ദിനേശ് സഞ്ചരിച്ച കാറില് ഒരു ട്രക്ക് വന്നിടിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. കോമണ്വെല്ത്ത് ഗെയിംസിന് മുന്നോടിയായി ജര്മനിയിലേയ്ക്ക് പോകുന്നതിന് ദിവസങ്ങള് മാത്രമുള്ളപ്പോഴായിരുന്നു അപകടം.റിങ്ങിലേയ്ക്ക് പിന്നീടൊരു തിരിച്ചുവരവ് ഉണ്ടായില്ല . മാസങ്ങളോളം ചികിത്സയില് കഴിഞ്ഞു. സര്ക്കാരില് നിന്ന് സഹായമൊന്നും ലഭിക്കാതായതോടെ കൈയിലെ കാശെല്ലാം ചെലവായി. നേരത്തെ മകന്റെ വിദേശയാത്രകള്ക്കുവേണ്ടി വന് തുക കടം വാങ്ങേണ്ടിവന്ന അച്ഛന് വീണ്ടും കടക്കാരനായി. കടംവീട്ടാന് അച്ഛന് മുന്നില് മറ്റൊരു മാര്ഗവും ഇല്ലാത്തതിനാല് രോഗശയ്യയില് നിന്ന് എഴുന്നേറ്റ മകനെ കുല്ഫി വില്ക്കുന്ന തന്റെ ഉന്തുവണ്ടി ഏല്പ്പിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു .അതില് നിന്നു കിട്ടുന്ന തുച്ഛമായ വരുമാനം കൊണ്ട് കുടുംബം പോറ്റി. കടങ്ങള് വീട്ടിത്തുടങ്ങി.ആദ്യം ചികിത്സാസഹായത്തിനും പിന്നീട് ഒരു ജോലിക്കും വേണ്ടി സര്ക്കാരിനെ സമീപിച്ചിട്ട് ഫലമില്ലാതായതോടെയാണ് താന് കുല്ഫി വില്ക്കാനിറങ്ങിയതെന്ന് ദിനേശ് പറയുന്നു. എങ്കിലും കടങ്ങളെല്ലാം വീട്ടി എന്നെങ്കിലും റിങ്ങില് തിരിച്ചെത്താമെന്ന ആത്മവിശ്വാസവുമുണ്ടെന്ന് മുപ്പതുകാരനായ ദിനേശ് പറയുന്നു .
