In a cricket-dominated country, freestyle sports have often been overshadowed over the years. Mumbai’s BMX rider, Annul Pale is a prime example of following your passion and achieving goals by overcoming obstacles throughout the journey to becoming a star.
Annul Pale talks about his undying love for BMX and what the sport means to him. He had quit his job and left his education unfinished in order to pursue a career in the sport. Annul drew inspiration from the BMX show on popular sports channel, ESPN. He developed a liking for performing stunts by watching this show.

Annul’s mother wasn’t happy with her son performing these stunts and there were times when Annul had to spend the night at his neighbour’s house. Annul learnt BMX-ing in around a month and a half; it was a scrap shop where Annul first saw a BMX cycle, for which he had to sell books and even steal things so that he could buy that bike.

Annul also talks about the injuries he suffered while BMX-ing and despite no support from his mother and elder mother, Annul continued to follow his dreams. He describes the fame he has received and how it has affected his everyday life. He got the opportunity to perform in shows and even did a guest role in a movie shot in Kerala.

Annul’s passion for the sport kept him going and he’s become a BMX star by training on his own. He wants to represent India in BMX at the international level..
