    પર્વત પાટિયા ચાર રસ્તા નજીક નહેરના પાણી રોડ ઉપર ફરી વળતા સિંચાઈ વિભાગ અને પાલિકાના કર્મચારીઓ દોડતા થઈ ગયા હતા. રાતે નહેરમાં પાણી છોડાતાની સાથે જ પર્વત પાટિયા નજીક નહેરમાં કચરાને કારણે નહેરનું પાણી ઊભરાયું હતું. 5 કલાક સુધી નહેર છલકાવાને કારણે નહેરનું હજારો લીટર પાણી પર્વત પાટિયા ચાર રસ્તાની ચારે બાજુ ફરી વળ્યું હતું. છલકાયેલા પાણીએ નાની નદીનું સ્વરૂપ લેતા લોકોમાં રોષ જોવા મળ્યો હતો. સ્થાનિક લોકોના કહેવા અનુસાર લાંબા સમયથી નહેરમાં કચરો જમા થઈ રહ્યો છે. જેને સાફ કરવાની જવાબદારી સુરત મહાનગર પાલિકાની છે. આવા સંજોગોમાં સિંચાઈ વિભાગે રાતથી નહેરમાં પાણી છોડતા પર્વત પાટિયા નજીક નહેર છલકાઈ ગઈ હતી. 5 કલાક સુધી નહેરના પાણી ઊભરતા આખો વિસ્તાર પાણી પાણી થઈ ગયો હતો.
    સવારે પાલિકાના અધિકારીઓને જાણ કરાતા તેઓ દોડતા થઈ ગયા હતા. સિંચાઈ વિભાગના અધિકારીઓ પણ નહેર છલકાઈ હોવાનું જાણી પર્વત પાટિયા વિસ્તારમાં દોડી આવ્યા હતા અને નહેરમાંથી કચરો બહાર કઢાવવા 2 જેસીબી મશીન તાત્કાલિક કામે લગાડ્યા હતા. એક બાજુ ઉનાળાની ઋતુમાં પાણીની કિલ્લત પડી રહી છે અને બીજી બાજુ તંત્રની બેદરકારીના કારણે ખેડૂતોને ખેતી કરવા માટે છોડવામાં આવેલું પાણી નહેરના કચરાને કારણે રસ્તા પર વેડફાય રહ્યું છે.
