    PINAKA Mk-2 की रेंज को गाइडेड रॉकेट्स के साथ बढ़ाया गया है और यूजर ट्रायल को पूरा कर लिया गया है।'
    PINAKA Mk-1 एक फ्री-फ्लाइट आर्टिलरी रॉकेट एरिया बॉन्बार्डमेंट सिस्टम है जिसकी रेंज 38 किलोमीटर है।

    भारत ने रविवार सुबह स्क्रैमजेट इंजन का सफल परीक्षण करते हुए इतिहास रच दिया है। स्क्रैमजेट इंजन का प्रयोग केवल रॉकेट के वायुमंडलीय चरण के दौरान ही होता है। यह ईंधन के साथ प्रयोग होने वाले ऑक्सीडाइजर की मात्रा को घटा कर प्रक्षेपण लागत को कम करने में मददगार है। भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने बताया, 'यह मिशन सफल रहा। इस दौरान दो स्क्रैमजेट इंजनों का परीक्षण किया गया। इस परीक्षण को लेकर अंतिम जानकारी बाद में साझा की जाएगी।' उन्होंने बताया कि तय समयानुसार दो स्टेज/इंजन आरएच-560 साउंडिंग रॉकेट ने आंध्र प्रदेश के श्रीहरिकोटा स्थित सतीश धवन अंतरिक्ष केंद्र (एसडीएससी) से उड़ान भरी। इन इंजनों का सिर्फ छह सेकंड के लिए ही परीक्षण किया गया। स्क्रैमजेट इंजन का प्रयोग केवल रॉकेट के वायुमंडलीय चरण के दौरान होता है इससे ईंधन में ऑक्सीडाइजर की मात्रा को कम करके प्रक्षेपण पर आने वाले खर्च में कटौती की जा सकेगी।-
