बीएसपी सुप्रीमो मायावती ने अपने 61वें जन्मदिन पर कार्यकर्ताओं से नोटबंदी के दौर में जरूरतमंदों की आर्थिक मदद कर उनका जन्मदिन कल्याणकारी बनाने की अपील की। इस दौरान मायावती ने मोदी सरकार पर जमकर हमला बोला और बीजेपी-सपा पर गठजोड़ कर सांप्रदायिक सौहार्द बिगाड़ने का आरोप लगाया। अपने जन्मदिन पर बीएसपी सुप्रीमो मायावती ने बीजेपी-समाजवादी पार्टी पर चुनाव फिक्सिंग का आरोप लगाते हुए कहा कि वोटों की सियासत के लिए सांप्रदायिकता फैलाई जा रही है, वहीं कांग्रेस को माया ने वेटिंलेटर पर बताया। बसपा प्रमुख ने कहा कि चुनाव नजदीक आने पर ही बीजेपी को उनके परिवार के कारोबार में गलतियां दिख रही हैं। अगर उनके परिवार के छोटे-मोटे कारोबार में कोइ गड़बड़ी थी, तो ढाई साल से बीजेपी चुप क्यों थी। माया ने बीजेपी पर अपने खिलाफ घिनौने षड्यंत्र करने का आरोप लगाते हुए कहा कि बीजेपी का यह दांव उन्हें ही उल्टा पड़ेगा। मायावती ने अमित शाह पर सीधा वार करते हुए कहा, 'बीजेपी के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष को मेरे और परिवार के संपत्ति के बारे में जानने की ज्यादा दिलचस्पी है।

Adams is widely known as the author of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which started life in 1978 as a BBC radio comedy before being turned into five best-selling novels which sold over 15 million copies worldwide. It has also been adapted for television, the West End stage and the big screen. It was later adapted to other formats,
The doodle has a device with words 'Don't panic' written on it. Here is why the doodle features 'Don't Panic'. In the series, Don't Panic is a phrase written in large, friendly letters on the cover of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
The doodle includes a spate of elements touching on Adams' famous novels, which are clickable. When clicked, the doodle also plays sound in the background. However, it can be turned off which a click of a mouse.
The doodle features a cup of tea, which brings to our mind one of Adams' Dirk Gently detective novels, named The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul.
It also has a towel, an item Adams always would mention as an essential thing when travelling in space. Besides, with the view to pay a tribute to Adams, his fans celebrate Towel Day every year on May 25, thereby demonstrating their appreciation for Adams and his books, as referred to in Adams' The Hitchhiker'

Douglas Adams, noted author and humorist, is the inspiration behind Monday's Google doodle. Adams is of course best known for his cult classic book The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Douglas Adams was on born on 11 March 1952 in Cambridge England. He showed a flair for writing from an early age and went to graduate in English literature in 1974. After graduation, he moved to London with an aim of becoming a TV and radio writer. It was here that we met Monty Python's Graham Chapman, and the two went on to form a writing partnership, albeit for a brief time.
Adams was credited with writing one of the sketches in a Monty Python episode, becoming one of only two people outside the original Monty Python members to be given a writing credit. Adams and Chapman also attempted non-Python projects, but got nowhere and Adams was forced to series of non-writing-related jobs.
While Adams continued to do some writing, his career took off after he got an opportunity to work with the BBC as a radio producer. It was here that The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was born as a science-fiction comedy series for the radio. The first series - consisting of six episodes - was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in March and April 1978, and received an excellent response. A seventh episode was broadcast on 24 December 1978.

Google today is celebrating noted author and humorist Douglas Adams' legacy and life with an animated doodle.
Adams (11 March 1952 - 11 May 2001) started his career in radio broadcasting at one of the BBC Radio stations. His work for the UK radio industry earned him a place in the hall of fame of the UK Radio Academy.
The Google doodle showcases one of Adams most well-known works 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' - a comic science fiction series with its movie adaptation in 2005.
Douglas Adams wrote some of the best English novels at his time, with some of his books selling more than 15 million copies worldwide.
A music aficionado who played guitar and piano, Adams was an environmental activist who championed the cause of wildlife conservation.
He was born on 11 March 1952 in Cambridge and died in 2001 at the age of 49 in Santa Barbara, California after a heart attack.
The doodle features a towel, a bag, a cup of tea and a few other items.
The doodle also features a robotic character when clicked on the liftdoor. The robot, named Marvin, is one of the several characters from Adam's novel The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

A posthumous collection of his work, including an unfinished novel, was published as The Salmon of Doubt in 2002.
