- जलीकट्टू को लेकर तमिलनाडू में संग्राम तेज हो चुका है। पिछले चार दिनों से चेन्नई के मरीना बीच पर भारी संख्या में लोग जुटे हुए हैं और आज तमिलनाडु बंद है। जगह-जगह प्रदर्शन किए जा रहे है। कई राजनीतिक पार्टियां भी इस विरोध को पूरा समर्थन दे रही है। तमिलनाडु के अलग-अलग हिस्सों और दिल्ली में भी विरोध हो रहा है। इस बीच केंद्र सरकार ने भी सुप्रीम कोर्ट में एक अर्जी दाखिल कर कम से कम एक हफ्ते तक जलीकट्टू पर फैसला नहीं देने का अनुरोध किया है. केंद्र ने कहा है कि धार्मिक भावनाओं को लेकर राज्य में प्रदर्शन हो रहे हैं और ऐसे में कानून-व्यवस्था को लेकर बड़ी समस्या खड़ी हो सकती है. सुप्रीम कोर्ट केंद्र की अर्जी पर राजी हो गया है कि एक हफ्ते तक इस मामले में फैसला नहीं दिया जाएगा। वहीं राज्य में बिगड़ते हालातों के मद्देनज़र सीएम पनीरसेल्वम ने एक बड़ा ऐलान किया है।

जल्लीहकट्टू पर लगी रोक हटाने का विरोध जनआंदोलन में बदल चुका है। आज तीसरे दिन भी चेन्नई के मरीना बीच पर हज़ारों की संख्या में छात्र और अन्यं लोग डटे हुए हैं। मंगलवार रात से ही ये प्रदर्शन हो रहा। बुधवार को भी जल्लीकट्टू से रोक हटाने की मांग को लेकर विद्यार्थियों, तकनीकी कामगारों, अभिनेताओं और राजनेताओं ने हज़ारों की संख्या में पूरे राज्य में प्रदर्शन किए। ये विरोध चेन्नई से लेकर राज्य के मदुरै समेत अन्य ज़िलों तक फैल चुका है, जहां लोग सु्प्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा लगाई गई रोक हटाने की मांग कर रहे हैं। लोगों के भारी विरोध के चलते राज्य के मुख्यमंत्री ओ पन्नीरसेल्वम ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से मुलाकात की है और पीएम को राज्य के हालातों से अवगत करवाया। साथ ही, उन्होंने सुप्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा लगाई गई रोक हटाने के लिए केंद्र सरकार से एक अध्यादेश लाने की मांग की। हालांकि इस पर पीएम का कहना है

तमिलनाडु में जलीकट्टू के समर्थन में जारी प्रदर्शन और उग्र हो गया है। पुलिस कार्रवाई से नाराज़ प्रदर्शनकारियों ने आज आइस हाउस पुलिस स्टेशन के बाहर जमकर हंगामा किया। प्रदर्शनकारियों ने थाने के बाहर खड़ी गाड़ियों में आग लगा दी और पुलिस वालों पर पत्थर बाज़ी भी की गई, जिसमें 20 पुलिसकर्मियों के घायल होने की खबर है। इससे पहले आज सुबह पुलिस ने मरीना बीच पर जुटे प्रदर्शनकारियों को जबरन हटाया था। जलीकट्टू पर लगी रोक हटाने के लिए अध्यादेश लाने के बाद भी लोग पिछले 6-7 दिनों से मरीना बीच पर जुटे हुए है। लेकिन आज सुबह पुलिस ने उन्हें प्रदर्शन खत्म करने के लिए समझाने की कोशिश की, लेकिन जब वे नहीं मानें, तो पुलिस को बल का इस्तेमाल करना पड़ा। लाठीचार्ज में काई प्रदर्शनकारी घायल भी हुए हैं। पुलिसकर्मी यहां जब इन प्रदर्शनकारियों को हटा रहे थे, तब वे लोग राष्ट्रगान 'जन-गण-मन' गाने लगे।

काफी शोर शराबे और वाद-विवाद के बाद तमिलनाडु में आखिरकार जलीकट्टू शुरु हो गया है और इसमें बड़ी संख्या में लोगों के घायल होने की खबर है। मदुरै के अवनीपुरम में आयोजित जलीकट्टू के दौरान 37 लोग घायल हो गए है। इनमें से 9 को गंभीर हालत में अस्पताल में भर्ती किया है वहीं बाकियों के प्राथमिक उपचार के बाद घर भेज दिया गया है। वहीं घायलों में से एक की हालत नाजुक बताई जा रही है। स्थानीय कलेक्टर का कहना है कि संबंधित टीम को हालात का जायजा लेने के लिए भेजा गया है...इसके साथ ही उन्होंने कहा कि , 'हम सरकार के आदेश के मुताबिक जलीकट्टू का आयोजन कर रहे हैं और सभी पहलुओं पर ध्यान दे रहे हैं
