ഡല്‍ഹി ഭരണാധികാരിയായിരുന്ന അലാവുദ്ദീന്‍ ഖില്‍ജിയാണു 'പത്മാവതി'ലെ വില്ലന്‍ വേഷത്തിലെത്തുന്നത്. ഇക്കാരണങ്ങളാല്‍ തന്നെ മുസ്ലിം ഭൂരിപക്ഷമുള്ള പാക്കിസ്താനിലും ചിത്രം ഒട്ടേറെ സെന്‍സറിങ്ങിനു വിധേയകമാകുമെന്നായിരുന്നു ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ അണിയറ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ കരുതിയിരുന്നത്.പാക്കിസ്ഥാനിലെ ചരിത്ര വിദഗ്ധനായ പ്രഫ. വഖാര്‍ അലി ഷായെയും ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ചരിത്രപരമായ കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ വിലയിരുത്താനായി സെന്‍സര്‍ ബോര്‍ഡ് ക്ഷണിച്ചിരുന്നുനേരത്തെ നാം ഷബാന, ജോളി എല്‍എഎല്‍ബി, റായീസ്, ഡിഷൂം, ഉഡ്താ പഞ്ചാബ്, ശിവായ്, യേ ദില്‍ ഹേ മുശ്കില്‍, നീര്‍ജ ദംഗല്‍ തുടങ്ങിയ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പാക്കിസ്താനില്‍ പ്രദര്‍ശനാനുമതി നിഷേധിച്ചിരുന്നു.ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞദിവസം തിയേറ്ററുകളിലെത്തിയ ചിത്രത്തിന് ഗ്രാഫിക്‌സ് എഡിറ്റിംഗ് പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കിയിട്ടും യുഎ സര്‍ട്ടിഫിക്കേറ്റ് ആണ് ലഭിച്ചത് ഒപ്പം 26 സീനുകള്‍ ഒഴിവാക്കിയായിരുന്നു പ്രദര്‍ശനം
