Google is keeping up with its tradition of coughing up Google Doodles on a pretty regular basis, especially during the current ongoing London Olympics. We have already seen doodles related to different sports so far. Today, it is the turn of Hurdles Google has done one hell of a job of creating a cool little mini game, that I dare say is very addictive.
Titled Hurdles 2012, users can control the player by pressing the left and right arrow keys and while doing so, the speed of the player accelerates. Users need to press the space bar to make the runner jump the hurdle. The game takes time getting used to, and the secret sauce for getting it right is not only timing of pressing the space bar but also getting enough momentum by alternating between the arrow keys as fast as possible.
Once the mini game is complete, Google will give your time along with the options to replay the mini game or post the time on your Google+ profile..

Those of you who remember the pain and frustration of Konami's 1983 hit NES game Track and Field may want to stay off Google tomorrow (today?), as an interactive Olympic-themed Google doodle lets you 'race' the 110m hurdles.
It's a classic finger-mashing game of athleticism, a challenge the equal of the actual Olympics (if the Olympics required the bare minimum of hand fitness). Google has been running special Olympic doodles throughout the Games, but this is the first interactive one.
The current world record for the men's 110m hurdles is 12.87 seconds, held jointly by Dayron Robles of Cuba and Lie Xiang of China. The best runners in the world can regularly race under 13 seconds, but we haven't managed that here yet in Wired.co.uk Towers. Our best was a paltry 13.9 seconds -- easily beatable, surely.

London 2012 hurdles can be termed as the most fun Olympic doodle ever that Google has created. Today, as the biggest sporting extravaganza entered its 12th day, Google greeted users with its first playable Olympic doodle which shows 110 metres men’s race with 10 hurdles.
The interactive doodle, in the shape of a laptop, lets the user participate in the hurdles race by using the left-right arrow keys to run and the spacebar to jump over the hurdles.
The score is displayed on the screen along with star ratings once the race is over. The experience can also be shared on Google+.
However, the doodle appears only as a static image on mobile Web browsers.
Yesterday, Google celebrated London 2012 Javelin competition with a night theme doodle that had the spotlight on a male athlete preparing to throw the Javelin in front of a jam-packed stadium.
Google featured London 2012 Synchronised Swimming doodle, depicting a team of female synchronised swimmers performing a routine on Sunday.
Earlier, Google had celebrated London 2012 Olympics events like Pole Vault, Shot Put, Table Tennis, Hockey, Artistic Gymnastics men's Rings, Fencing, Diving and Archery with a different doodle theme for every sport.
The opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics on July 27 was celebrated with doodle depicting five athletes playing different Olympics sports.

London 2012 Hurdles - An Interactive Animated Google Doodle.
Google has a new Doodle for Tuesday, the 12th day of the London Olympics and this time it is one which surfers can interact with. Press play and users can get their athlete to compete in the hurdles!
A tribute to each sport being contested in the ongoing Olympics, the latest Doodle will have surfers trying to make an animated character jump over hurdles using the spacebar on their keyboards while the arrow buttons (left and right) are to be presses repeatedly to make it go faster.
While most may find it rather simple, actual athletes on the field have to train hard to compete in the hurdles event, especially to gain success in the Olympics where the level of competition is right at the top.
The 110m hurdles has been included in the 2012 Summer Games and women will compete in the 100m category. Athens, in 1886, had the hurdles for the first time with Thomas Curtis of the United States winning the gold medal. It was also the only time the event did not have a bronze medal. Traditionally, United States have been dominating the event in the Olympics, claiming the Gold in all years except 1920, 1928, 1976, 1980, 1992, 2000 and 2004 (in the 110m category). That is 19 Golds in 26 Olympics for USA.

The twelfth doodle that Google has posted during the London 2012 is easily Google's most fun Olympic doodle ever.
The interactive doodle lets you participate in a hurdles race (though you'll be the only runner on screen) and use the left-right arrow keys to run and the spacebar to jump over the 10 hurdles in the race.
Once the race is over a score (in seconds) is displayed on the screen and also gives a star rating. An armchair hurdler managing a score lower than 11.8 seconds will get a three-star rating. Users can also share their Google armchair Olympic hurdles achievement on Google+.
