Infosys on Friday reported a 2.21 per cent year-on-year fall in consolidated profit at Rs 4,019 crore for the quarter ended September 30. The IT major had posted a profit of Rs 4,110 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Analysts in an ET NOW poll had projected a net of Rs 4,040.

    IT major Infosys on Friday reported a 5.3 per cent year-on-year rise in profit at Rs 3,802 crore for the June quarter. Sequentially, profit fell 6.8 per cent. Analysts in an ET NOW poll had projected a net of Rs 3,730 crore. The company has increased FY20 revenue growth guidance to 8.5-10 per cent in constant currency, while maintaining FY20 operating margin guidance in range of 21-23 per cent.

The IT firm had posted Rs 5,129 crore profit in the corresponding quarter last year, the company said in a BSE filing. The company announced a share buyback under open market route of Rs 8,260 crore at a maximum price of Rs 800 per share. It also announced a special dividend of Rs 4 per share.
