केंद्र सरकार ने पांच राज्यों में चुनाव से पहले बड़ा दांव खेला है। केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने किसानों को राहत देते हुए कम अवधि के फसल कर्ज पर 660.5 करोड़ के बकाये सूद को माफ करने का ऐलान किया है। ये माफी पिछले साल नवंबर और दिसंबर के सूद पर लागू होगी. इसके लिए सरकार द्वारा नेशनल बैंक फॉर एग्रीकल्चरल एंड रूरल डेवेलपमेंट बैंक यानी नाबार्ड को अनुदान दिया जाएगा। इससे छोटे पैमाने के किसान अधिक लाभान्वित होंगे। सहकारी बैंकों से कर्ज लेने वाले किसानों को इस एलान से फायदा होगा। फैसले का मकसद नोटबंदी की मार से जूझ रहे किसानों को रबी की फसल के लिए आसान फसल लोन दिलवाना है. इसके लिए सरकार नाबार्ड के जरिये सहकारी बैंकों को अतिरिक्त पैसा मुहैया करवाएगी. ब्याज माफी का फायदा सहकारी बैंक मौजूदा वित्तीय साल में भी किसानों को पहुंचाएंगे. इस फैसले से सरकारी खजाने पर करीब 1060 करोड़ रुपये का बोझ पड़ने का अनुमान है. किसानों के लिए कर्ज पर ब्याज माफी के लिए साल 20016-17 में जारी किए गए 15 हजार करोड़ रुपये पहले ही खर्च किये जा चुके हैं।---
