ആഫ്രിക്കന്‍ രാജ്യങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് പടര്‍ന്നു പിടിച്ച എബോള വൈറസിനെ പ്രതിരോധിക്കുന്നതിനായി വികസിപ്പിച്ച വാക്‌സിന്‍ മനുഷ്യരില്‍ വിജയകരമായി പരീക്ഷിച്ചതായി റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്. വാക്‌സിന്‍ ലണ്ടനിലെ സെന്റ് ജോര്‍ജ് സര്‍വകലാശാലയിലെ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ വംശജനായ ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞന്‍ സഞ്ജീവ് കൃഷ്ണ ഉള്‍പ്പെട്ട സംഘമാണ് വികസിപ്പിച്ചത്. കുട്ടികളിലും മുതിര്‍ന്നവരിലും പലവട്ടം പരീക്ഷണം നടത്തി വാക്‌സിന്റെ ഡോസ് നിര്‍ണയിക്കും. ഏറ്റവും മാരകമായ എബോള രോഗം ബാധിച്ച 28,600 പേരില്‍ 11,300 പേരും മരണത്തിനു കീഴടങ്ങിയിരുന്നു. പശ്ചിമാഫ്രിക്കന്‍ രാജ്യങ്ങളായ ഗ്വിനിയ, ലൈബീരിയ, സിയോറ ലിയോണ്‍ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലാണ് ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതല്‍ നാശം വിതച്ചത്.
