ആദ്യഘട്ടത്തില്‍ 16,000 ബസുകളില്‍ സ്ഥാപിക്കും. കെ.എസ്.ആര്‍.ടി.സി.യുടെ 6000 ബസുകള്‍ കൂടാതെയാണിത്.ചരക്കുവാഹനങ്ങള്‍ക്കും മറ്റ് വാഹനങ്ങള്‍ക്കുമുള്ള ജി.പി.എസ്. താമസിയാതെ നിര്‍ബന്ധമാക്കും. വാഹന ഉടമകളാണ് ജി.പി.എസ്. ഘടിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടത്. മോട്ടോര്‍വാഹന വകുപ്പ് നിര്‍ദേശിക്കുന്ന കമ്പനികളുടെ ജി.പി.എസ്. ആണ് വാങ്ങേണ്ടത്.
