ലോകത്തെ ഏറ്റവും തണുപ്പുള്ള ജനവാസമേഖലയാണ് റഷ്യയിലെ സൈബീരിയയിലുള്ള ഓയ്മ്യക്കോണ്‍ എന്ന ഗ്രാമം. -62 ഡിഗ്രിയാണ് കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം ഇവിടെ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയ താപനില. ലോകത്ത് ഏറ്റവും തണുപ്പേറിയ ഈ ഗ്രാമത്തില്‍ 500ാളം ആളുകള്‍ മാത്രമാണ് അധിവസിക്കുന്നത്. ശരാശരി -50 ഡിഗ്രിയാണ് ജനുവരിയിലെ താപനില. കടുംതണുപ്പായതിനാല്‍ മുഖം മറയ്ക്കാതെ പോലും പുറത്തിറങ്ങാനാവില്ല. മുഖം മൂടി മാറ്റിയാല്‍ കണ്‍പീലിയിലടക്കം മഞ്ഞു മൂടം. മൂത്രമൊഴിച്ചാല്‍ പോലും ഐസായിപ്പോകുന്ന അവസ്ഥ. വാഹനങ്ങളുടെ ബാറ്ററി ചാര്‍ജ്ജ് വേഗം നഷ്ടമാവുക, പേനയിലെ മഷി ഉറഞ്ഞു പോവുക തുടങ്ങി എണ്ണിയാലൊടുങ്ങുത്ത പ്രതിസന്ധികളെ തരണം ചെയ്താണ് ഇവരുടെ ജീവിതം.ശവസംസ്‌കാരമാണ് ഇവര്‍ അഭിമുഖീകരിക്കുന്ന ഏറ്റവും രൂക്ഷമായ പ്രശ്‌നം.

റഷ്യയുടെ എഴുപത്തെട്ടു ശതമാനം ഭൂപ്രദേശം, ഏകദേശം പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ ആസ്ത്രേലിയയുടെ വലുപ്പമുള്ള ഒരു ഹിമഭൂമി, അതാണ്‌ സൈബീരിയ. ജനസംഖ്യാ ആനുപാതത്തില്‍ നോക്കിയാല്‍ വളരെ കുറഞ്ഞ ജനസാന്ദ്രതയുള്ള ഭൂമിയിലെ ഒരു കൊച്ചു രാജ്യം എന്ന് സൈബീരിയയെക്കുറിച്ച് പറയാം.തണുപ്പിനാല്‍ മൂടിക്കിടക്കുന്നത് കൊണ്ട് ഉറങ്ങുന്ന ഭൂമി എന്നൊരു വിശേഷണം സൈബീരിയയെക്കുറിച്ച് പറയാറുണ്ട് .അഞ്ഞൂറ് മില്ലിയന്‍ വര്‍ഷങ്ങളുടെ ഭൂമിശാസ്ത്ര ചരിത്രം, നാല്‍പതിനായിരം വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മുന്‍പ് മനുഷ്യരുടെ മൂന്നു മുന്‍കാല സ്പീഷീസ് ജീവിച്ചു വന്നതിന്‍റെ തെളിവുകള്‍. അങ്ങിനെയുള്ള റഷ്യന്‍ സൈബീരിയയിലെ ഒരു കൊച്ചു വില്ലേജാണ് ഒയ്മ്യക്കോന്‍. താപനില താഴോട്ട് പോയാല്‍ മൈനസ് അറുപത്തെട്ട് ഡിഗ്രിവരെ പോകും. അതിശൈത്യകാലാവസ്ഥയില്‍ മൊബൈല്‍ ഫോണ്‍ തികച്ചും പ്രവര്‍ത്തനരഹിതമായിരിക്കുമിവിടെ. കൃഷിക്ക് അനുയോജ്യമായ സ്ഥലമല്ലാത്തത് കൊണ്ട് ഇവിടെ താമസിച്ചു വരുന്ന അഞ്ഞൂറോളം ജനങ്ങള്‍ ഹിമക്കലമാനുകളുടെയും കുതിരകളുടെയും ഇറച്ചി ഭക്ഷിച്ച് ജീവിക്കുന്നു. ഭോജനരീതിയിലുള്ള വ്യത്യാസം കൊണ്ട്പോലും പോഷകാഹാരക്കുറവു രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടില്ലെന്ന് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുണ്ട്.തണുത്തുറഞ്ഞുപോകുന്ന കാലാവസ്ഥയില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ കലോറിയുള്ള ഭക്ഷണം കഴിചില്ലെങ്കില്‍ അതി ശൈത്യത്തെ അവര്‍ക്ക് അതിജീവിക്കാന്‍ കഴിയില്ലെന്നതാണ് വസ്തുത . റഷ്യയിലെ ഓയ്മ്യാകോന്‍ എന്ന പ്രദേശത്ത് വര്‍ഷം മുഴുവന്‍ തണുത്തുറഞ്ഞ ഇവിടെ മനുഷ്യര്‍ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നത് ചൂടിനുവേണ്ടിയാണ് . ഇവിടെ 500 പേര്‍ മാത്രമേ താമസമുള്ളൂ. 1933ലാണ് ഇവിടെ ഏറ്റവും കൂടിയ തണുപ്പ് രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയത്. മൈനസ് 68 ഡിഗ്രി സെല്‍ഷ്യസ്. അന്റാര്‍ട്ടിക്കയ്ക്ക് പുറത്ത് രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയ ഏറ്റവും കൂടിയ തണുപ്പാണിത്. ഏത് കാലാവസ്ഥയിലും പ്രകൃതിയോടു പോരാടി ജീവിക്കുന്ന ഒയ്മ്യകോണിലെ മനുഷ്യരുടെ ജീവിതരീതി സാധാരണയിൽ നിന്നും വ്യത്യസ്തമാണ്. കുതിരയുടെ രക്തം കൊണ്ടുള്ള ഐസ് കട്ടകളും മാകറോണിയുമാണ് ഇവിടുത്തെ നാടന്‍ ഭക്ഷണം. സൈബീരിയയുടെ വിദൂരതയിൽ ശൈത്യകാലത്ത് വളരെ അപകടകരമായ മഞ്ഞു കൊണ്ട് മൂടിക്കിടക്കുന്ന മേഖ

रूस के साइबेरिया में शुक्रवार रात खराब मौसम की वजह से एमआई-8 हेलीकॉप्टर के दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया.. इस हादसे में 21 लोगों की मौत हो गई है तो वहीं 3 से ज्यादा लोग घायल हैं।साइबेरिया के यमल प्रायद्वीप में जब रूसी एमआई-8 हेलीकॉप्टर दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हुआ तब उसमें 22 यात्री और चालक दल के तीन सदस्य सवार थे। घायलों में से एक ने अपने मोबाइल फोन के जरीए आपातकाल विभाग को फोन कर पूरी घटना की जानकारी दी, जिसके बाद मौके पर पहुंची बचाव दल ने घायलों को अस्पताल पहुंचाया। बहरहाल जांच में जुटी पुलिस ने मौके से दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हेलीकॉप्टर के दोनों ब्लैक बॉक्स बरामद किए है। हालांकि हादसे के पीछे खराब मौसम, उडान सुरक्षा नियमों के उल्लंघन, और किसी मशीनी समस्या की आशंका जताई जा रही है। आपात स्थिति मंत्रालय की मानें तो घने कोहरे के कारण दुर्घटनास्थल का पता लगाने और बचाव अभियान में काफी दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ा।

The Governor of Haryana, their Chief Patron, visits the Home once a year to encourage and bless the children.
