ശൈത്യകാല ഒളിമ്പിക്‌സ് തുടങ്ങാന്‍ രണ്ടാഴ്ച ശേഷിക്കെ പ്യോങ്ചാങ് ഒളിമ്പിക് വില്ലേജില്‍ വിതരണം ചെയ്തത് 110,000 ഗര്‍ഭ നിരോധ ഉറകളാണെന്ന് കണക്കുകള്‍. 2,925 അത്‌ലറ്റുകളാണ് 90 രാജ്യങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നായി ദക്ഷിണകൊറിയിയിലെ പ്യോങ്ചാങ്ങില്‍ എത്തിയിട്ടുള്ളത്. ഇത് പ്രാകാരം ശരാശരി ഒരു അത്‌ലറ്റ് 37 ഗര്‍ഭ നിരോധ ഉറ എന്നാണ് കണക്ക് അതേസമയം ഒളിമ്പിക്‌സിനെത്തിയ അത്‌ലറ്റുകള്‍ക്ക് പുറമെ രാജ്യങ്ങളെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിച്ചെത്തിയവര്‍ക്കും, മറ്റ് ഒഫിഷ്യലുകള്‍, മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ തുടങ്ങി മറ്റുള്ളവര്‍ക്കും ഉറകള്‍ ലഭ്യമാണ്. പുരുഷന്‍മാരുടെയും സ്ത്രീകളുടെയും ശൗചാലയങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് സമീപം ഗര്‍ഭ നിരോധ ഉറകള്‍ ലഭിക്കുന്ന പ്രത്യേക ബാസ്‌കറ്റുകള്‍ സ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.2010 ല്‍ വാന്‍കോവെറിലും, 2014ല്‍ സോചിയിലും നടന്ന ശൈത്യകാല ഒളിമ്പിക്‌സിലും വിതരണം ചെയ്തതിനേക്കാള്‍ അധികമാണ് കുറഞ്ഞസമയത്തിനുള്ളില്‍ പ്യോങ്ചാങ്ങില്‍ നല്‍കിയത്.
