സിംഗിള്‍ സെല്‍ ന്യൂക്ലിയര്‍ ട്രാന്‍സ്ഫര്‍ (എസ്.സി.എന്‍.ടി) സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യയിലൂടെ പിറവിയെടുത്ത ആദ്യ ക്ലോണ്‍ കുരങ്ങുകളാണിവ. മറ്റൊരു അണ്ഡത്തിലേക്ക് കോശങ്ങളുടെ ന്യൂക്ലിയസ് ഡിഎന്‍എ ട്രാന്‍സ്ഫര്‍ ചെയ്യുകയും അത് ഭ്രൂണമാക്കി വിരിയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രക്രിയയാണിത്. മനുഷ്യരിലെ രോഗചികിത്സയില്‍ വന്‍ മുന്നേറ്റമാകുമെന്ന് പഠനത്തിന് നേതൃത്വം നല്‍കിയ ഇന്‍സ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് ന്യൂറോസയന്‍സ് ഡയറക്ടര്‍ അറിയിച്ചു.ഇതോടെ നായ പൂച്ച പന്നിയുള്‍പ്പെടെ 20 ഇനം മൃഗങ്ങളെ ക്ലോണിങ്ങിലൂടെ സൃഷ്ടിക്കാനായി
