Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday, addressing the media in Jhansi said that recovery rate in UP has climbed to 93% and COVID positivity rate has fallen to 2%. CM Yogi said, 'no. of cases in second Covid wave clocked its peak at 38,000 on April 24. Today, cases have come down to 4000. There was a time when active cases were 3.1 lakh on April 30, now fallen to 84,000.' He further said that UP recovery rate has climbed to 93% and positivity rate fallen down to 2%. He also thanked Central govt for the help during oxygen crisis.

The COVID-19 positivity rate has declined from 24.83 per cent on May 10 to 12.45 per cent on May 22, the Union health ministry said on Saturday. Eight states have more than 1 lakh active cases while 18 states have over 15 per cent positivity rate, joint secretary in the ministry Lav Agarwal said during the briefing. The daily rise in coronavirus cases in India remained below the 3 lakh-mark for the sixth consecutive day, with 2.57 lakh new cases recorded in a single day, health ministry data showed.
