അന്തസോടെ മരിക്കാം...!!!
2005മുതല്‍ ആരംഭിച്ച പോരാട്ടങ്ങള്‍ക്കൊടുവിലാണ് ദയാവധത്തിന് അനുകൂലമായൊരു വിധി
അസുഖം മൂലം ജീവിതത്തിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ച് വരാനാകാത്ത അവസ്ഥയില്‍ രോഗികള്‍ക്ക് മുന്‍കൂട്ടി ദയാവധത്തിനുള്ള സമ്മതപത്രം എഴുതാം.ഈ സമ്മതപത്രത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ മെഡിക്കല്‍ബോര്‍ഡ് പരിശോധനകള്‍ക്കു ശേഷം രോഗിക്ക് ദയാവധം അനുവദിക്കും.പാസ്സീവ് യുതനേസിയയ്ക്കാണ് സുപ്രീംകോടതി അനുമതി നല്‍കിയത്.അതാഥയ് മരുന്ന് കുത്തിവെച്ച് മരണം നല്‍കില്ല.ചികിത്സ,ജീവന്‍രക്ഷ ഉപകരണങ്ങളെന്നിവ ഒഴിവാക്കി മരിക്കാന്‍ വിടും.2005ല്‍ ഒരു സ്വകാര്യ ബില്ലിലൂടെയാണ് ലോകസഭയില്‍ ആദ്യമായി ദയാവധത്തിനായി ശബ്ദമുയര്‍ന്നത്.2006ല്‍ നിയമ കമ്മീഷന്‍ ശുപാര്‍ശയെ ആരോഗ്യ മന്ത്രാലയം എതിര്‍ത്തു.പിന്നീട് ഈ ആവശ്യം വീണ്ടും ഉയരുന്നത് മുംബൈയില്‍ മാനഭംഗത്തിനിരയായി മസ്തിഷ്‌ക മരണം സംഭവിച്ച അരുണ ഷാന്‍ബാഗിനു വേണ്ടി.2011ല്‍ അരുണയ്ക്ക് ദയാവധം അനുവധിച്ച് സുപ്രീംകോടതി ഉത്തരവിട്ടെങ്കിലും റദ്ദാക്കി.ഇപ്പോഴിത രണ്ടു വര്‍ഷത്തോളം നടത്തിയ പഠനത്തിനൊടുവില്‍ അന്തസോടെ മരിക്കാന്‍ കോടതി അനുവാദം നല്‍കിയിരിക്കുന്നു
