Over 2 lakh devotees join #SrinivasMangalMahotsav in Nallasopara

The suburb of Nallasopara was thronged with more than 2 lakh devotees who graced the 7th year of the Srinivas Mangal Mahotsav. The mass congregation was organised by #TirupatiTirumalaDevasthanam (T. T. D) of Andhra Pradesh and Om Shri Saidham Mandir Trust, Virar.

The utsav murti or presiding deity of Venkateswara and his consorts, Sridevi and Bhudevi, were specially brought from Chennai for the procession. Members of the TTD Trust also flew down to Mumbai to oversee the arrangements. The traditional instrument players, too, were brought from Chennai who led the huge procession.

Devotess across the city witnessed the huge festival which gets organised each year at the Venkateswara Temple, Tirupati Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh. The nine-day festival of Brahmotsavam in Andhra Pradesh attracts more than 1.5 lakh devotees on a daily basis wherein the presiding deity of Venkateswara and his consorts, Sridevi and Bhudevi, are taken on a procession on the streets surrounding the temple.

Various religious activities and rituals were performed at the celebration which began from a massive procession or 'baarat' followed by a proverbial marriage of Lord Tirupati. The wedding arrangements were made all across the route and the Maha Mandap or the wedding venue was decorated with flowers, fruits and trees. The marriage was followed by 'prasadam' for all the devotees.
