Rakeshwar Singh Manhas, the commando from the Central Reserve Police Force's elite CoBRA unit, who was kidnapped by Naxals during the Bijapur attack on April 3, has been released by them, police sources said. Manhas belongs to the 210th CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) battalion, an elite unit of CRPF. He went missing after the April 3 gunfight between Naxals and security personnel near Sukma-Bijapur border.

बीजापुर सुकमा में हमारे जवानों और नक्सलियों के बीच हुई मुठभेड़ में हमारे 22 जवान शहीद तो वहीं 31 जवान घायल भी हुए हैं। इसी मुठभेड़ के दौरान हमारे एक कोबरा कमांडो राकेश्वर सिंह को नक्सलियों द्वारा अगवा कर लिया था, हालाँकि बाद में नक्सलियों की तरफ से उनकी एक तस्वीर भी जारी की गई जिसमें वो सकुशल दिख रहे हैं। अच्छी खबर ये है कि राकेश्वर सिंह की जल्द वापसी की उम्मीद नजर आने लगी है। राकेश्वर सिंह की रिहाई के लिए अब कवायद शुरू हो गई है। सीआरपीएफ के कोबरा कमांडो की रिहाई के लिए छत्तीसगढ़ पुलिस नक्सलियों के साथ वार्ता के लिए मध्यस्थों के जरिए रास्ता ढूंढ रही है। पुलिस की कोशिश है कि जवान को नक्सलियों के कब्जे से सुरक्षित छुड़ाया जाए।

A couple of days after BSF constable's video alleging poor diet went viral, a 26-year-old CRPF jawan, who is deployed in Mount Abu, has posted another video alleging discrimination between the facilities provided to Army and paramilitary forces.
In a message to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the constable said, while teachers in government colleges get Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 salary along with leaves on festivals but CRPF personnel on duty in dense jungles in places like Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand don't have any facilities.
