സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് മേയ് ഒന്‍പതുമുതല്‍ വേനല്‍മഴയ്ക്ക് സാധ്യതയെന്ന് കാലാവസ്ഥാ നിരീക്ഷണ കേന്ദ്രം. ഒന്‍പതാം തീയതിയോടെ ശ്രീലങ്കയ്ക്ക് കിഴക്കുഭാഗത്ത് അന്തരീക്ഷച്ചുഴി രൂപപ്പെടാനിടയുണ്ട്. ഇത് കന്യാകുമാരി തീരത്ത് എത്തുന്നതോടെ കേരളത്തില്‍ നല്ല മഴ ലഭിക്കുമെന്നാണ് പ്രവചനം. സംസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ എല്ലാ ഭാഗങ്ങളിലും കനത്ത മഴ ലഭിക്കും. പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ചതിലും 23 ശതമാനം അധികം വേനല്‍ മഴ ഈ വര്‍ഷം ലഭിച്ചതായും കാലാവസ്ഥാ നീരീക്ഷണ കേന്ദ്രം ഡയറക്ടര്‍ അറിയിച്ചു. വേനല്‍ മഴ കുറവുള്ള തെക്കന്‍ ജില്ലകളിലും 24 മണിക്കൂറിനുള്ളില്‍ നല്ല മഴ ലഭിക്കും..
