Union Minister Gopinath Munde died in a road accident in Delhi on Tuesday morning when he was on his way to the airport. He was rushed to the AIIMS trauma centre after the accident where he was declared dead. He will be cremated on Wednesday.
The accident took place when Munde was on his way to the Indira Gandhi International airport to fly to Mumbai. It took place when when Munde's car was moving from Lodhi Road towards the Aurobindo Chowk.

Union rural development minister Gopinath Munde has died after he met with a road accident near Moti Bagh area in New Delhi at 6.30 am.

The minister suffered cardiac arrest while being treated at AIIMS trauma center.
Reports suggest it was a head-on collision with another car and he had lost blood due to the accident.The driver of the Indica car which hit the minister's car has been taken into custody.
Munde was going in his SX4 vehicle at Aurobindo Chowk when an Indica car hit him.
He had suffered multiple injuries including injuries to the chest and head and was on ventilator.
Senior BJP leaders, cabinet ministers have also rushed to AIIMS. His family members too have left for Delhi.
Munde was on his way to the Delhi's IGI Airport from where he was scheduled to catch a flight for Mumbai. He was supposed to attend a victory rally in Beed, Maharashtra on Tuesday.
He was admitted to the AIIMS trauma center.
Munde is the brother-in-law of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan.

Gopinath Munde will be cremated later at his village in Maharashtra state.
His body was flown on Tuesday night to Mumbai and supporters have been paying their last respects.
Mr Munde was on his way to the airport to take a flight to his home state of Maharashtra when his car was hit by another car, officials said.
Doctors at the AIIMS hospital said he was not breathing when brought in and efforts to resuscitate him failed. The autopsy showed he died from a spinal fracture.
On Wednesday morning, thousand have gathered in Parli village where Mr Munde's body will brought for his last rites in a few hours, BBC Hindi's Devidas Deshpande reports from the village.
Security is tight as several senior politicians are due to attend the cremation and tens of thousands will be in the village by the time of the funeral, our correspondent adds.
