New Delhi: The baby who India saw in photographs, a black band placed across her eyes to protect her identity, has died in hospital. On Sunday, she would have completed two months at Delhi's AIIMS, where doctors treated her for unimaginable horrors inflicted upon her.
She died of a heart attack - her third in these two months. Lately, doctors had felt she was recovering from the different medical complications that were the result of having her face bitten, her head smashed into a wall, and her chest being burnt with a hot clothes iron.

Actor Michael Clarke Duncan, the miraculous mountain of muscle in the Oscar-nominated film 'The Green Mile,' died Monday in Los Angeles after a massive heart attack in July.
The hulking 6-foot-5, 325-pound movie star passed away early in the day at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center at age 54, his rep confirmed to the Daily News.
“(He) suffered a myocardial infarction on July 13 and never fully recovered,” the rep said.
His fiancée, Omarosa Manigault, a reality TV star and Baptist minister, performed CPR on Duncan when she found him unresponsive the morning he entered the hospital seven weeks ago, a source told The News.
Duncan left the intensive care unit in early August but remained hospitalized.
“Manigault is grateful for all of your prayers and asks for privacy at this time,” Duncan’s rep said, adding that public and private memorials would be announced soon.
“I'll miss you, my brother,” actor Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson, Duncan’s co-star in 2002 flick “The Scorpion King,” wrote on Twitter.
Duncan previously worked as a bodyguard for Will Smith and Jamie Foxx and was hired to protect Brooklyn rapper Christopher (Notorious B.I.G) Wallace the night Wallace was murdered in Los Angeles.

Director Ridley Scott was seen boarding a plane from London to Los Angeles after receiving the news his younger brother, Tony Scott, director of such Hollywood hits as 'Top Gun,' 'Days of Thunder' and 'Beverly Hills Cop II,' had died Sunday after jumping from a Los Angeles County bridge.
The 68-year-old Scott's death was being investigated as a suicide as a report emerged on Monday that he may have been battling terminal brain cancer.
However, the director's family has insisted to investigators the report is false, TMZ reported Monday. The director's wife reportedly told investigators rumors of her husband having brain cancer are 'absolutely false,' and that Scott did not have any other severe medical issues that would have caused him to take his own life.
An autopsy was performed on the British-born director's body Monday. Coroner's officials say it will be a month or more before they determine an official cause of death.
Several people called 911 around 12:35 p.m. to report that someone had jumped from the Vincent Thomas Bridge spanning San Pedro and Terminal Island in Los Angeles Harbor, according to Los Angeles police Lt. Tim Nordquist.
