Parliament Makes History By Passing the Lokpal Bill
The Parliament passed the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Bill today, taking a major step towards transparent and accountable governance in India. Speaking during the discussion in the Lok Sabha, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi said, 'We need a comprehensive anti corruption code in the country. It is our responsibility to complete the unfinished work in our fight against corruption.'
Social activist Anna Hazare welcomed the passage of the Bill and said that Parliament has taken a 'historic step' and that the Lokpal will 'put the brakes on corruption'.

We have 6 Bills in Parliament. The Opposition has stalled Parliament for year after year. We want to give this country those Bills. These Bills are going to transform the fight against corruption.
