Bilaspur DC inaugurated Him Ira Divyang Canteen on Monday. This canteen, built under the State Rural Livelihood Mission, has been given to 5 disabled people to run. Out of these, 3 are men and 2 are women. All of them will prepare tea, breakfast and lunch and deliver it to nearby government offices, where meetings are held every day. With this innovative effort, these disabled people will not only get employment, but they will also earn additional income by selling the products of self-help groups.

सरकारें कितनी भी बड़ी-बड़ी बातें करें लेकिन जब जमीनी हकीकत की बात आती है तो सब साफ होता है कि आम आदमी तो दूर उन लोगों की मदद करने में भी ये असफल साबित होती हैं जो जिंदगी में पहले से ही मुफलिसी के आलम में हैं। ये खबर दास्तां हैं उन दिव्यांगों की जिनको सरकार की तरफ से हर महीने मदद के तौर पर पेंशन दी जाती है। लेकिन ज्यादातर लोगों की पेंशन पिछले तीन चार महीने से रुकी हुई है। कभी कहा जाता है कि इस फार्म को भरिए और कभी कहा जाता है कि आधार कार्ड को लिंग कीजिए। जब ये वृद्ध और विकलांग लोग अपने सारे कागजात लेकर पेंशन के ऑफिस जाते हैं तो इनको वहां से कभी कंप्यूटर की खराबी के कारण लौटना पड़ता तो कभी कागज पूरे ना होने पर लौटा दिया जाता है पूछने पर कोई अधिकारी पूरी जानकारी नहीं देता है।
यूं तो पहले ही इन विकलांगों और वृद्धों के जीवन में परेशानियां बहुत हैं और सरकार की तरफ से एक आस भी थी तो उसको पेंशन दफ्तर के अधिकारी मायूसी में तब्दील करने में कोई कोर कसर नहीं छोड़ते हैं।
कुछ लोगों का तो ये भी कहना था कि उन्होंने पेंशन ऑफिस आने के लिए किराए में कई पैसे उठा दिए अब तो देने के लिए भी किराया नहीं बचा है फिर भी हमारी पेंशन रुकी हुई है।
