'Day 5 of the Men Junior's Hockey World Cup in Delhi and Pool C where we see The Netherlands take on Canada. Netherlands were playing to consolidate their position at the top of Pool C and immediately showed that they meant business.
The Netherlands opened their tally on a penalty-stroke when Rik Van Kan pass into the D was met by Thierry Brinkman whose shot was blocked by Manvir Kingra and was deemed by the Referee to have blocked a scoring chance resulting in a Penalty Stroke being awarded. The bronze medal game of the Men's Hero Hockey World Cup in India took place between Malaysia and the Netherlands with the Dutch comfortable 7-2 winners.
The Netherlands drew first blood in the 3rd minute when their captain Roel Bovendeert progressed along the back line, attempted a high shot and batted in goal the rebound from the goal-keeper.
The Dutch did not waste any time and added a second goal three minutes later from Thierry Brinkman. Malaysia responded with a penalty-corner and, with three goals in four minutes, the match was launched on a high note!

On the second day of the Hero Hockey Junior World Cup Pool C in India, with India taking on Canada in the second group game of the day. India grabbing a late winner and taking away all 3 points.
An early goal coming from Canada to the disappointment of the home support, the captain Sukhi PANESAR the scorer after panic in the India defence, 0-1 Canada.
India kept on knocking at Canada's door; eventually the equaliser coming from a very well worked penalty corner, Mandeep SINGH guiding it past Kevin PEREIRA.
18 minutes left of the match Canada were awarded a penalty corner, Gordon JOHNSTON drag flick giving Canada a 1-2 lead.
For the second time in the match India found themselves behind but it only lasted 5 minutes, Akashdeep SINGH with a beautiful little touch, teeing up an exciting end to the match.
With 90 seconds left on the clock, Gurjinder SINGH was there to convert the penalty corner shattering Canadian hearts and giving India 3 points, what a great game to wrap up another exciting day of hockey in India.

'The last match of pool play between India and Korea was eagerly expected by the Indian fans and media. The local team absolutely needed to win to qualify for the quarter-finals, when a loss or even a draw would push Korea through.
India was immediately on the attack and forced a penalty-corner in the 3rd minute, but Lee Seyoung easily saved the low drag flick. Korea were equally unsuccessful on their first penalty-corner when You Seungju crashed his powerful drag-flick on the crossbar. Last match of the day promised to be exciting, as always when India and Pakistan meet in international hockey. The two neighbours have been giants of the hockey scene for the longest time and their classic rivalry always attracts big crowds, whether at senior or junior level, for a final or a 9th place as tonight.
Both teams were eager to get into action and the flag waving crowd was roaring in anticipation. The Indians, sporting their new bright yellow kit, rushed forward from the opening whistle. They created a few chances but, as too often in this competition, were too hasty in trying to conclude. They were surprised in the 7th minute when Pakistani Muhammad Dilber received the ball behind their defense and calmly passed it to Rizwan Ali left totally unmarked in the middle of the circle for an easy push in goal.
India tried to come back quickly but, encouraged by the crowd, were pushing their runs a tad too far, making it difficult for themselves to deliver useful passes. Pakistani goal-keeper Mazhar Abbas handled well some hot situations and Pakistan weathered the Indian storm calmly, dashing forward in bold counter-attacks each time they had an opening.
