સુરત મહાનગર પાલિકા સંચાલિત સ્મીમેર હોસ્પિટલનું તંત્ર ફરી એકવાર ઊંઘતું ઝડપાયું હતું. સ્મીમેર હોસ્પિટલના ગાઇનેક વોર્ડમાં દાખલ કરાયેલી મહિલાના 3 વર્ષના પુત્રને કોઈ અજાણી મહિલા ઉપાડી ગઈ હતી. આ મુદ્દે મહિલાના પરિવારે પોલીસ સ્ટેશનમાં ફરિયાદ નોંધાવી છે. ફરિયાદના આધારે પોલીસે સ્મીમેર હોસ્પિટલના CCTV કેમેરા ચેક કરતા અજાણી મહિલા નાના બાળકને લઈ જતી કેમેરામાં જોવા મળી હતી. પોલીસે અજાણી મહિલા વિરુદ્ધ ગુનો નોંધી મહિલાને પકડવાની દિશામાં કામગીરી હાથ ધરી છે. પ્રાપ્ત માહિતી અનુસાર સ્મીમેર હોસ્પિટલમાં ગણેશ રાઠોડની પત્નીને C-1 વોર્ડમાં દાખલ કરવામાં આવી હતી. વોર્ડમાં મહિલા તેના 3 વર્ષ પુત્ર સાથે સૂતી હતી તે દરમિયાન પાંચેક વાગ્યે કોઈ અજાણી મહિલા ગણેશ રાઠોડના 3 વર્ષના પુત્રને કાંખમાં બેસાડી નાસી ગઈ હતી. ત્યારબાદ માતાની આંખ ખૂલતા પુત્રને પાસે ન જોતા તેણે બૂમાબૂમ કરી હતી. મહિલાના પતિ દ્વારા પોલીસ ફરિયાદ કરતા વરાછા પોલીસ ઘટના સ્થળે પહોંચી હતી અને વધુ તપાસ હાથ ધરી હતી.

भारतीय चिकित्सा पद्धति किस तरह दिन ब दिन सफलता की नई ऊंचाइयां छू रही है और भारतीय सर्जन चिकित्सा के क्षेत्र में किस तरह लगातार नये कीर्तिमान स्थापित कर रहे हैं, इसका जीता जागता उदाहरण है ये बच्चा मुज़म्मिल....मुज़म्मिल 3 साल का है और अफगानिस्तान का रहने वाला है । इसकी छाती में लगभग साढ़े सात सौ ग्राम का ट्यूमर हो गया था जिसका दिल्ली के जीवन हॉस्पिटल के डॉक्टरों ने सफलता पूर्वक ऑपरेशन करके मुज़म्मिल की जान बचा ली ।
अफगानिस्तान के लगभग सभी हॉस्पिटल जब मुज़म्मिल की जान बचाने में असमर्थ रहे तो उसके माता पिता उसे लेकर दिल्ली आये और उसके पिता ने दिल्ली के लगभग सभी बड़े प्राइवेट और सरकारी अस्पतालों में मुजम्मिल को दिखाया लेकिन कही भी डॉक्टरों ने मुजम्मिल की बचने की आशा नही दिखाई । फिर इस बच्चे के घरवाले इसे लेकर जीवन हॉस्पिटल गये जहाँ के डॉक्टरों ने इसे एक चुनौती के रूप में लिया और लगभग 6 घंटो के ऑपरेशन के बाद ट्यूमर निकाल दिया ।
मुजम्मिल की छाती में ये ट्यूमर दिल और फेफड़े के बीच में था और ये धीरे धीरे बड़ा हो रहा था जिससे इस मासूम को सांस लेने में काफी दिक्कत हो रही थी क्योंकि ट्यूमर धीरे धीरे फेफड़े को दबाये जा रहा था। ऑपरेशन होने के बाद मुजम्मिल की स्थिति अब ठीक है और वो धीरे धीरे बेहतर हो रहा है।
