Germany have ended a disappointing campaign at the Argentina Hockey World League in positive fashion, thrashing Korea 7-4 to secure a 7th place finish at the event in San Miguel de Tucuman. Hannah Krüger and Marie Mävers both scored doubles in a crowd pleasing second half that featured nine goals.

    New Zealand took on Argentina in a lively encounter in the Women's Hockey World League Finals as Argentina emerged with a hard-fought 2-1 victory.

    Despite the early chances falling to the hosts it was New Zealand who took the lead when Anita Punt drilled home from close range, but the lead didn't last long as Delfina Merino was first to react to a loose ball, slotting under Sally Rutherford in the Black Sticks goal just two minutes later.

    Argentina took the lead early in the second half, Merino the scorer again, firing home after Rutherford had produced a fine save to stop Rebecchi's earlier shot.

    New Zealand had several chances to level, including a last minute penalty corner, but Argentina held strong to claim a 2-1 win and go joint top of Pool B with Australia.

    Argentina met China on day three of the women's hockey world league finals in Argentina. The final pool game of the group saw Argentina winning 3-1 and safely through to the quarter finals.

    The first goal came after a poor pass by D'Elia sending China on the counter attack, Mengrong WU the scorer.

    The equalizer came after a lovely bit of play by Aymar cutting in from the right hand side and teeing up Albertarrio.

    With 6 minutes left of the first half Argentina took the lead, Luchetti getting onto D'Elia original penalty corner shot and directing it into the top corner, 2-1.

    Argentina's third came after a penalty corner the shot hitting the frame of the goal for a second time in the match, this time though the ball coming back in and Merino was there to get on the end of it, 3-1.

    Argentina saw off the rest of the half finishing 3-1 and seeing them safely through to the quarter finals to the delight of their home support.

    Day 6 and the final day of the Argentina Hockey World League Final 2013 where we see England take on Argentina in the 3rd and 4th place match.

    First Half started in England's favour when their first attack when Laura Unsworth shot crept over the line and seeing England go 1-0 early in the game. Argentina, who were dominating this half, surged forward for an equalizer and came close when a Penalty Corner was met by Noel Barrionuevo had her shot go straight to Carla Rebecci but saw the ball bobble off her stick and go wide of the goal.

    However, with Argentina pressing and showing a strong dominance in the game, England's lead did not last long. Julia Gomes Fantasia shot from outside the D lead to an England own goal when Maddie Hinch (GK), attempted to stop the shot but the ball came deflected off the keeper into the goal leaving the scores at the break one a piece.

    The Second Half started the same as the first half ended with Argentina dominating most of the chances. Argentina came close when a Penalty Corner received by Luciana Aymar (C) went wide of the post and was unlucky not to go in. The host tournament team carried on pressing and came close again when Carla Rebecci received the ball and forcing her way into the D, unleashing a fierce shot that was again palmed away by Keeper Maddie Hinch (GK).

    'Day Three, Match 2 saw Germany take on England, with England gaining all three points.

    First Half, saw both team trying to settle in the game but the first goal came half way through when England's Kate Richardson-Walsh mistaken pass lead to a German attack. Franzisca Hauke received the ball in the D and her shot was deflected in by teammate Eileen Hoffmann. However Germnay's lead did not last long when German defender Katharina Otthe pass was intercepted by Hannah MaCleod and the ball went straight to Alex Danson whose ferocious shot went straight pass the keeper and brought her team levelled.

    Second half saw England take the lead, from a Penalty corner, Nic White's shot was touched in by Sophie Bray who positioned herself in a great position to see her shot pass the keeper. England were managing to hold onto the lead withstanding a number of German attacks including Jana Teschke shot was sent into the D but England Keeper Maddie Hinch (GK) deflected save met Kate Richardson-Walsh who cleared England's line.

    England had the chance to extend when Sam Quek's good run saw Helen Richardson-Walsh cross into D but Ashleigh Ball's diving effort was unable to connect with the ball. It was finally over when Alex Danson added another goal to her tally with an amazing solo effort.     'Match 16 of the tournament saw Australia against Germany in the Quarter Final number 4.

    The First Half saw the first goal come in the 24th minutes. German player Lea Stöckel made her way to the D, showing great ball control and stick work, and her shot was met by Eileen Hoffmann who touched the ball into the net.

    Just before the before the break, Australia had another chance to level the score from a Penalty corner but two fine save from Barbara Vogel (GK) denied Flanagan and Nelson from leveling the scores.

    Second Half, again started at a slow place but Australia showed the most promise in getting back into the game and back into the game they did. They levelled the scores when Claire Messent passed the ball to Emily Smith touched into the path of Ashleigh Nelson who slotted it into the net.

    Australia were close to taking the lead when Georgie Parker managed to beat her defender and unleashed a shot across the D but Barbra Vogel made another great save but put the ball into the path of Claire Messent whose shot was cleared out by Germany.

    At the final whistle it still remained 1-1 which meant a Penalty Shootout was in order to decide the outcome of the game.

    It started positively for Australia when Julia Muller failed to score for Germany past Australian Keeper Rachael Lynch and gave Australia a one goal lead. Australia made sure they capitalized on all their penalties by sco

    China played Germany in the second 5th-8th playoff match on day 5 of the Women's World Hockey League Finals in Tucuman, in Argentina, winning 3-1.

    A strong performance from the Chinese, who were clinical in front of goal from the start. Yang Peng scored a fantasic reverse stick goal to open the scoring, before Ting Huang calmly converted a penalty stroke, to make it 2-0 at half time.
    Liang scored China's third in the second half, an impressive strike from the edge of the 'D' which rocketed past 'keeper Barbara Vogel.
    Germany found a goal late on in the match, some tidy stick work from Katharina Otter made space for a pass across goal, which was jabbed in by Lena Jacobi to make it 3-1.
    It was too late for the German's and that was how the score stayed, meaning China progress to the 5th/6th Playoff tomorrow against New Zealand.
