Day 5 and it's the first of the Semi-Finals of the day were we see England take on Australia in the first match to decide who will be the first team in the final at the Argentina World Hockey League Tournament.
First Half started off competitive with both teams pushing to grab the early goal in a sold out stadium. It was Australia creating a number of chances, one that was close to going in, but if it wasn't for England Keeper Maddie Hinch stretching her left leg out, we could have seen Ashleigh Nelson put her team ahead. Again Ashleigh Nelson, who was on fine form, was able to beat her defender and unleash a ferocious shot but Hinch again managed to kick the ball out, keeping her team in the game, and keeping the game goalless.
However the first goal came just before Half Time when another Australian Penalty Corner saw the on form Jodie Schulz's dragflick sail straight past the on form keeper, putting her team 0-1. England did get one chance through their first Penalty Corner of the game when Kate Richardson-Walsh shot went agonizingly wide, leaving it at the break 0-1 to Australia.
Second Half saw Australia again come out strong seeing our second goal of the game. Scored by Georgie Parker her shot managed to creep in past the England defense and extend the Australian lead.
It was then all Australia when they grabbed yet another goal, showing there dominance on the game, when an Australian Penalty.

Day 6 and the final day of the Argentina Hockey World League Final 2013 where we see England take on Argentina in the 3rd and 4th place match.
First Half started in England's favour when their first attack when Laura Unsworth shot crept over the line and seeing England go 1-0 early in the game. Argentina, who were dominating this half, surged forward for an equalizer and came close when a Penalty Corner was met by Noel Barrionuevo had her shot go straight to Carla Rebecci but saw the ball bobble off her stick and go wide of the goal.
However, with Argentina pressing and showing a strong dominance in the game, England's lead did not last long. Julia Gomes Fantasia shot from outside the D lead to an England own goal when Maddie Hinch (GK), attempted to stop the shot but the ball came deflected off the keeper into the goal leaving the scores at the break one a piece.
The Second Half started the same as the first half ended with Argentina dominating most of the chances. Argentina came close when a Penalty Corner received by Luciana Aymar (C) went wide of the post and was unlucky not to go in. The host tournament team carried on pressing and came close again when Carla Rebecci received the ball and forcing her way into the D, unleashing a fierce shot that was again palmed away by Keeper Maddie Hinch (GK).

Day 6 and it's the Final of the Argentina Hockey World League Finals where we see Netherlands take on Australia for the Goal Medal Match.
The First Half saw Australia take the lead in the game when Anna Flanagan dragflick met the back of the net giving the Hockeyroos a 0-1 lead. During the game the Netherlands looked strong but Australia showed they were up for the challenge.
The Second Half saw The Netherlands came out strong and showed there intent in not giving up in this final gaining two goals in quick succession. The first came from a Penalty Corner and saw the Captain Maartje Paumen strong dragflick go across the fall and into the net bringing The Dutch back In the game. However this did not last long when Kitty Van Male's pass was met by Rosalin Drost who made her way into the D and her hit went through the keeper, putting the The Netherlands 2-1 up and leading the game.
However just when you thought Australia had a chance in getting back into the game, The Netherlands struck back and extended their lead when Kitty Van Male received the ball in the D from a Lidewij Welten pass and Van Male's shot was deflected off the unbalanced Rachael Lynch (GK) seeing The Netherlands go 3-1 up.
The Netherlands were on course to winning the game but made sure they would took all their chances, when Maartje Paumen hit the target again for the second time from another dragflick from a Penalty Corner,

New Zealand took on Argentina in a lively encounter in the Women's Hockey World League Finals as Argentina emerged with a hard-fought 2-1 victory.
Despite the early chances falling to the hosts it was New Zealand who took the lead when Anita Punt drilled home from close range, but the lead didn't last long as Delfina Merino was first to react to a loose ball, slotting under Sally Rutherford in the Black Sticks goal just two minutes later.
Argentina took the lead early in the second half, Merino the scorer again, firing home after Rutherford had produced a fine save to stop Rebecchi's earlier shot.
New Zealand had several chances to level, including a last minute penalty corner, but Argentina held strong to claim a 2-1 win and go joint top of Pool B with Australia.

Argentina met China on day three of the women's hockey world league finals in Argentina. The final pool game of the group saw Argentina winning 3-1 and safely through to the quarter finals.
The first goal came after a poor pass by D'Elia sending China on the counter attack, Mengrong WU the scorer.
The equalizer came after a lovely bit of play by Aymar cutting in from the right hand side and teeing up Albertarrio.
With 6 minutes left of the first half Argentina took the lead, Luchetti getting onto D'Elia original penalty corner shot and directing it into the top corner, 2-1.
Argentina's third came after a penalty corner the shot hitting the frame of the goal for a second time in the match, this time though the ball coming back in and Merino was there to get on the end of it, 3-1.
Argentina saw off the rest of the half finishing 3-1 and seeing them safely through to the quarter finals to the delight of their home support.

'Australia and Argentina went up against each other in the second semi-final of the 2014 Men's Hockey World Cup to determine who will play Netherlands in the final.
Australia got off to a flying start and scored from their first penalty corner in the 4th minute with Kieran Govers blasting home from the top of the circle. It was another penalty corner from which the 2-0 goal was scored; this time Jeremy Hayward finishing for the Kookaburras. Jacob Whetton then scored a fantastic solo goal in the 33rd minute to send Australia up 3-0 going into the break.
Australia continued their dominance in the second half and another penalty corner produced the fourth goal, this time scored by Chris Ciriello. Shortly after, Jeremy Hayward got his second goal of the game to put the Aussies 5-0 up. Argentina pulled the score back to 5-1 in the 58th minute when Gonzalo Peillat struck a ferocious shot in from a penalty corner. However, the four goal deficit was too much to overcome and Australia sailed into the final to play the Netherlands.

Day two of the Women's Hockey World League Final in Argentina saw Australia take on China in Pool B with Australia coming out 5-1 winners.
After a close opening 15 minutes, Australia made the breakthrough when Claire Messent picked up the rebound from Georgie Parker's shot and fired in past the diving Li. Three minutes later Australia doubled their lead, Kellie White diverting in Madonna Blyth's shot from close range.
China pulled one back before half time. Ashlee Wells initial save from a penalty corner deflecting in off the foot of Jodie Schulz to make it 2-1 at the break.
Australia extended their lead soon after the restart when Georgie Parker's shot sneaked through the legs of Li for Emily Smith to tap in and it was Smith again who grabbed the fourth in similar fashion, following in the rebound from Brooke Peris's effort.
Peris came close to making it five when her great strike came crashing off the post before Schulz completed the victory turning in a penalty corner with the last shot of the game and give the Hockeyroos a convincing 5-1 win.

Australia met New Zealand on day three of the women's hockey world league finals in Argentina. Australia taking away all 3 points from their rivals New Zealand in a 5-1 victory.
Australia started strong and took the lead 10 minutes in with Parker popping up at the far post.
New Zealand equalized from a penalty corner, Punts shot taking a slight deflection on its way in.
The third saw Nelson guide the ball past Sally Rutherford from a nice cross field ball, putting Australia ahead going into half time.
Australia carried on from where they left off in the first half, a wonderful strike from Kelly White increasing the lead to 3-1.

'Match 16 of the tournament saw Australia against Germany in the Quarter Final number 4.
The First Half saw the first goal come in the 24th minutes. German player Lea Stöckel made her way to the D, showing great ball control and stick work, and her shot was met by Eileen Hoffmann who touched the ball into the net.
Just before the before the break, Australia had another chance to level the score from a Penalty corner but two fine save from Barbara Vogel (GK) denied Flanagan and Nelson from leveling the scores.
