    'Day 3 of the Hockey World League where The Netherlands took on Korea, seeing The Netherlands win 3-1.

    The match started brightly for The Netherlands when they took the lead 33rd Minute when Maria Verschoor's ball went into the path of Lidewij Welten who turned to have a clean shot on goal to put her team in front. The second came 3 minutes later when a Penalty corner was received by Maartje Paumen whose fierce shot was saved by JANG Soo Ji (GK) but went into the pathway of the Penalty taker Kitty van Male whose shot, from a tight angle, extend The Netherlands lead.

    Third came when Kitty van Male ran down the wing, shot into the D and Lidewij Welten was on hand to touch the ball in to the net and get her 2nd of the game, putting The Netherlands in firm control in this first half.

    Second half started positive for both teams who created a number of chances but were unable to make them count. However he 4th goal of the game came last in the half when CHEON Eunbi received the ball in the D and showed good stick control to slot it in the back of the net.

    Although Korea had few close chances to get themselves back in the game The Netherlands managed to hold on to their lead winning 3-1.

    'Day Three, Match 2 saw Germany take on England, with England gaining all three points.

    First Half, saw both team trying to settle in the game but the first goal came half way through when England's Kate Richardson-Walsh mistaken pass lead to a German attack. Franzisca Hauke received the ball in the D and her shot was deflected in by teammate Eileen Hoffmann. However Germnay's lead did not last long when German defender Katharina Otthe pass was intercepted by Hannah MaCleod and the ball went straight to Alex Danson whose ferocious shot went straight pass the keeper and brought her team levelled.

    Second half saw England take the lead, from a Penalty corner, Nic White's shot was touched in by Sophie Bray who positioned herself in a great position to see her shot pass the keeper. England were managing to hold onto the lead withstanding a number of German attacks including Jana Teschke shot was sent into the D but England Keeper Maddie Hinch (GK) deflected save met Kate Richardson-Walsh who cleared England's line.

    England had the chance to extend when Sam Quek's good run saw Helen Richardson-Walsh cross into D but Ashleigh Ball's diving effort was unable to connect with the ball.     Day 6 and the final day of the Argentina Hockey World League Final 2013 where we see England take on Argentina in the 3rd and 4th place match.

    First Half started in England's favour when their first attack when Laura Unsworth shot crept over the line and seeing England go 1-0 early in the game. Argentina, who were dominating this half, surged forward for an equalizer and came close when a Penalty Corner was met by Noel Barrionuevo had her shot go straight to Carla Rebecci but saw the ball bobble off her stick and go wide of the goal.

    However, with Argentina pressing and showing a strong dominance in the game, England's lead did not last long. Julia Gomes Fantasia shot from outside the D lead to an England own goal when Maddie Hinch (GK), attempted to stop the shot but the ball came deflected off the keeper into the goal leaving the scores at the break one a piece.

    The Second Half started the same as the first half ended with Argentina dominating most of the chances. Argentina came close when a Penalty Corner received by Luciana Aymar (C) went wide of the post and was unlucky not to go in. The host tournament team carried on pressing and came close again when Carla Rebecci received the ball and forcing her way into the D, unleashing a fierce shot that was again palmed away by Keeper Maddie Hinch (GK).

    Day 6 and it's the Final of the Argentina Hockey World League Finals where we see Netherlands take on Australia for the Goal Medal Match.


    The First Half saw Australia take the lead in the game when Anna Flanagan dragflick met the back of the net giving the Hockeyroos a 0-1 lead. During the game the Netherlands looked strong but Australia showed they were up for the challenge.

    The Second Half saw The Netherlands came out strong and showed there intent in not giving up in this final gaining two goals in quick succession. The first came from a Penalty Corner and saw the Captain Maartje Paumen strong dragflick go across the fall and into the net bringing The Dutch back In the game. However this did not last long when Kitty Van Male's pass was met by Rosalin Drost who made her way into the D and her hit went through the keeper, putting the The Netherlands 2-1 up and leading the game.

    However just when you thought Australia had a chance in getting back into the game, The Netherlands struck back and extended their lead when Kitty Van Male received the ball in the D from a Lidewij Welten pass and Van Male's shot was deflected off the unbalanced Rachael Lynch (GK) seeing The Netherlands go 3-1 up.

    The Netherlands were on course to winning the game but made sure they would took all their chances, when Maartje Paumen hit the target again for the second time from another dragflick from a Penalty Corner,

    New Zealand took on Argentina in a lively encounter in the Women's Hockey World League Finals as Argentina emerged with a hard-fought 2-1 victory.

    Despite the early chances falling to the hosts it was New Zealand who took the lead when Anita Punt drilled home from close range, but the lead didn't last long as Delfina Merino was first to react to a loose ball, slotting under Sally Rutherford in the Black Sticks goal just two minutes later.

    Argentina took the lead early in the second half, Merino the scorer again, firing home after Rutherford had produced a fine save to stop Rebecchi's earlier shot.

    New Zealand had several chances to level, including a last minute penalty corner, but Argentina held strong to claim a 2-1 win and go joint top of Pool B with Australia.

    Netherlands met Argentina on day one of the Hero Hockey World League. A hard-fought game with some excellent hockey saw Argentina win.

    The Argentine intent was signalled when they took the lead in just the second minute of the game through a penalty corner, which top scorer Gonzalo Peillat slotted away.

    The Netherlands responded immediately with an equally well-taken penalty corner from penalty corner specialist Mink van der Weerden (5'). Three minutes later Argentina reclaimed the lead with a diving conversion by Facundo Callioni (8').

    The remainder of the first half was quiet in comparison, with both sides taking a cagey approach. And these defensive tactics continued for the first 15 minutes of the second half. It was the Netherlands who broke the deadlock in the second half when Seve van Ass (50') levelled for the Netherlands. The son of the national coach, Paul van Ass, scored with a reverse stick shot from wide left of the goal.

    Six minutes later and Los Leones re-gained their advantage when first Pedro Ibarra (56') shot home from open play and then Guido Barriedes (60') scored a beautifully-taken goal following sustained Argentine pressure.

    Argentina further extended their lead when they were awarded and converted a penalty stroke. The scorer on was Juan Ignacio Gilardi (67').

    New Zealand met China on day one of the women's hockey world league finals in Argentina. China edge past New Zealand in a 0-2 victory.

    China scored their first after 7 minutes; Cui the scorer after Wang's original shot was saved.

    Both teams created chances and with 12 minutes left of the half China were awarded a penalty stroke. Wang stepped up but Sally Rutherford was on hand to stop China adding to their lead.

    After a quiet second half China did finally double the score, HUANG Ting converting after a poor penalty corner. An excellent start to the tournament for China but a disappointing result for New Zealand.

Korea came back strong and levelled the scores when Seung PARK A ran into the box and crossed the ball to Mi Hyun PARK who scored.
