રાજ્યભરની યુનિર્વિસટી સંલગ્ન કોલેજોમાં ૨૦૦૯-૧૦ના ગાળામાં સેમેસ્ટર સિસ્ટમ લાગુ થઈ હતી. પરંતુ સાત વર્ષમાં આ સિસ્ટમ સામે ફરિયાદો ઉઠી છે. ળામાં તો આ સિસ્ટમ રદ થઈ ગઈ છે. પરંતુ કોલેજના વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ સેમેસ્ટર સિસ્ટમના કારણે મુશ્કેલીઓનો સામનો કરવો પડી રહ્યો છે. ત્યારે સુરતમાં ઓલ ઇન્ડિયા ડી.એસ.ઓ દ્વારા સેમેસ્ટર પ્રથાનો વિરોધ કરાયો.
