We have inputs of many infiltrators waiting at the launching pads and we think infiltration will start sooner this year because of less snow. But we are taking counter measures. One reason for the firing can be this (to push infiltrators). Whenever there is firing by Pakistan, it is certain there is an attempt to push infiltrators. The same thing happened in Kupwara and Tangdhar,' general officer commanding of the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, Lt Gen A K Bhatt, told reporters on the sidelines of a passing out parade at the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Centre Srinagar.

POK में भारतीय सेना की ओर से की गई सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक के जहां एक तरफ सबूत मांगे जा रहे हैं, तो वहीं अब UPA सरकार के कार्यकाल के दौरान सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक होने का दावा किया जा रहा है।
..द हिंदू अखबार ने 2011 की सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक से जुड़े दस्तावेजों का हवाला देते हुए लिखा है कि भारत और पाकिस्तान ने 2011 में क्रॉस बॉर्डर सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक को अंजाम दिया था। इस दौरान कुल 13 सैनिक मारे गए थे। हालांकि पाकिस्तान दो भारतीय सैनिकों के सिर को अपने साथ ले गया था, जबकि जवाब में तीन पाकिस्तानी सैनिकों के सिर भारतीय सैनिक अपने साथ ले आए थे। इसे हमले को तब अंजाम दिया गया, जब पाकिस्तान ने कुपवाड़ा के गुगालधर चोटी में आर्मी पोस्ट पर हमला किया था, जिसमें 6 भारतीय जवान शहीद हुए थे। हालांकि कुपवाड़ा बेस के मुखिया रहे रिटायर्ड मेजर जनरल एसके चक्रवर्ती ने इस सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक की पुष्टि की है, लेकिन ज्यादा बताने से साफ इनकार कर दिया है। 48 घंटों तक चले इस सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक में भारतीय सैनिकों ने पीओके में पाक की पुलिस चौकी के पास लैंड माइंस भी बिछाए थे। इस पूरी कार्रवाई को ऑपरेशन जिंजर का नाम दिया गया था।
