President Pranab Mukherjee, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, party Vice-president Rahul Gandhi and former prime minister Manmohan Singh reached Jawaharlal Nehru's Samadhi at Shanti Van on Friday, to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of the country's first prime minister. A similar function has also been organised at the Teen Murti Bhavan in the evening. Later in the day, President Mukherjee will give away awards to children for their achievements. The country on Wednesday fondly remembered former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 70th birth anniversary. Rajiv's wife and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, son and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and her husband Robert Vadra, also laid flowers at the samadhi.
