As TMZ first reported, Nadya is getting $2,000 a month from the State of California, which can only be used on food.
We spoke to her at her home today, where the mother of 14 said she's hoping she only needs the assistance for a month of two at the most.
Octo has been receiving death threats since the news of her welfare broke, but she feels people should be directing their anger towards those who are abusing the system and not at her.

Nadya Suleman, nicknamed 'octomom' after giving birth to octuplets, has turned to state welfare despite recently having posed topless for Closer magazineBut the mother of 14 is now getting 2,000 dollars a month from the State of California. The money is deposited directly into a special debit card account, a website has reported. The card can only be used for food and is closely monitored by the State to make sure the cardholder isn't making illegal purchases. Suleman qualified for the card because her income is less than 119,000 dollars a year and a family of 15 that makes less than that amount is entitled to welfare benefits.
