The Seleção were too strong for the Indian U-17 side but they put up a strong showing in what was the last match of the group stages.
The Indian U-17 team ended up losing 1-3 against a strong Brazil outfit in Goa, in what turned out to be their fourth defeat in a row.

The visitors wasted no time in establishing their superiortiy as Brenner Silva opened the scoring for them with his deflected effort giving Mohammed Nawaz no chance in goal.

However, Nicolai Adam's men were in no mood to give up as they upped the ante and had the reward in the 19th minute following a virtuoso effort from Komal Thatal. He beat his marker for pace and drifted down the left before unleashing a powerful curling drive that made it 1-1 for India, which was also India's first goal in the tournament.

Zico: Nothing going right for FC Goa

WIth the Indian defenders playing a dangerously high line, Brazil pegged one back at the half hour mark through Marcos Santos who ran on to an expert through ball and beat Nawaz with ease.

Komal could have been the hero once again as he was brought down in the box, but the referee waved away all penalty appeals as India went into the half a goal down.

The home side had a chance to equalise in the 66th minute as Joysana Singh snatched the ball and cut inside into the box but instead of opting to go for goal himself, tried to slide it sideways to an onrushing Aman Chetri only to see the Brazil defense hoof it clear..
