JAMMU LINKS NEWS | Rajiv Chuni has been re-elected an chairman of the SOS International – an organization for PoK displaced persons in an election held here on Sunday. He has been elected for the 9th time in a row for this position.
Election in-charge of the organization, Prof JS Mangal during a meeting at Rehari Colony, Jammu said election was conducted as per the resolution passed by general house of the organization on April 29, 2018 that says election will be held to elect only chairman and the rest of the team will be constituted by elected chairman.
Speaking further, Prof Mangal said that all the members were called telephonically, via newspaper notice and letters were also sent for nominations but only 3 nominations were received till fixed date and all were for only Rajiv Chuni. “The nominations were accepted and were in order, moreover it is mandatory to mention here that the last date for receiving nominations was July 13, Friday and the Saturday July 14, was the last date of withdrawal. A large number of life members and general members of the organization today participated in the peaceful electoral process and declared Chuni elected as chairman once again..

While addressing a rally of PoK DPs at Meheshpura Jammu, Chuni said it was very unfortunate on part of BJP that it was spoiling the case of PoK DPs and distorting the history of J&K by recommending KPs to visit PoK, ignoring the facts that it was the PoK DPs only who were thrown out of the areas of erstwhile J&K, which is under illegal occupation of Pakistan and known as PoK.
