Monica Lewinsky gets reported $12 million for memoir

What to say about a book deal for Monica Lewinsky that will bring her a reported $12 million?

Slate points out Bill Clinton was paid $15 million for his memoir. It does seem wrong that the difference between the man who was a two-term president of the United States and the woman who had a sexual encounter with him was only $3 million. Or maybe sad.

Lewinsky has already told her story once, in 'Monica's Story.' She was interviewed for the book by author Andrew Morton, whose unauthorized biographies include the somewhat scandalous 'Diana, Her True Story' about the former Princess of Wales.

The new book is rumored to have three things that the earlier one did not: more salacious details about Lewinsky and Clinton, ostensible complaints by Clinton about his wife, Hillary, and Lewinsky's love letters to Clinton, previously unpublished.

The New York Post writes, “In them, she opened her heart about her love for Bill and how much happier she could make him,” said the source. “Some of what she wrote was so raw that she never sent them.'

It's been 15 years since Lewinsky's encounters with Clinton, and 14 since the story hit the airwaves. For those who remember the whole mess -- the surreptitious tape recordings, the denials and non-admissions, the Starr investigation -- it will come as no surprise that Lewinsky saved the letters.

Monica Lewinsky Joins Twitter to Fight Harassment, Gets Harassed

Monica Lewinsky announced Monday a new campaign to fight cyberbullying and marked its launch by joining Twitter. “Having survived myself, what I want to do now is help other victims of the shame game survive, too,” she said in a speech at the Forbes' 30 Under 30 summit. “I want to put my suffering to good use and give purpose to my past.”

Here's exactly what she's up against: Within hours of joining, her mentions feed on Twitter is already a cesspool of bullying and harassment. Apparently, Lewinsky has opted out of showing her mentions.

Issues with cyberbullying aren't limited to just high-profile figures. Average women face online harassment, too including serious threats of violence and even revenge porn. Amanda Hess has explained how social media giants typically handle such abuse: Women are told, 'Ignore the barrage of violent threats and harassing messages that confront you online every day.' Their default is to let abusive content stay up, since they are protected legally from what individual users post under the 1996 Communications Decency Act.

Monica Lewinsky's $exy tape to Bill Clinton unearthed after 15 years

The racy recording was thought to have been destroyed many years ago. But the National Enquirer said it recently obtained a copy of the November 1997 tape, in which the infamous intern is heard trying to persuade the former president to meet with her.

Monica Lewinsky, in a never-before-heard audio tape recorded before her affair with former President Bill Clinton made headlines, attempts to seduce him by promising to take her “clothes off,” it was reported Wednesday.
In the recording, which was made after the one-time White House intern had already hooked up with Clinton numerous times — but before the scandal broke — Lewinsky was incredibly accommodating as she tried to talk the 42nd President into a quickie.
She said they could rendezvous for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, whatever worked for him — and they could arrange it so word wouldn’t get out.
'I could take my clothes off and start ... I hope to see you later and I hope you will follow my script and do what I want,' Monica Lewinksy says on a racy tape she recorded for former President Bill Clinton during their affair, according to a report by Radar Online.

The racy audio recording was thought to have been destroyed many years ago — but it emerged Wednesday like a ghost from Bubba’s past. It couldn’t have been good news for Hillary Clinton, who has long been considered the front-runner for the Democratic nomination if she runs for the presidency in 2

Monica Lewinsky Recordings With Bill Clinton Surface After 16 Years

Just when you thought that there was no way that the Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky affair had any more life left in it, new recordings have surfaced that shed new light on their relationship. There's no way Hillary is in a good mood this week.
A brand new tape that was sold to the National Enquirer (yes, we know, but it does appear to be legitimate) contains a four-minute recording of Lewinsky as she persistently attempts to seduce Clinton back in 1997. She does not waste any time in letting him know what her intentions are.
'Since I know you will be alone tomorrow evening, I have two proposals for you, neither of which is you not seeing me. I could take my clothes off and start...well...I know you wouldn't enjoy that? I hope to see you later and I hope you will follow my script and do what I want,' Lewinsky was reported as saying in the recording.

The tapes were reportedly recorded back in November 1997, which would have been months after their last alleged tryst in March of 1997. In the tapes we can hear Lewinsky desperately doing everything she can to woo the president back into bed, though no indication is given that he intended to reciprocate anymore.

'And then that way we don't have to deal with the problem of me...of there being a record of me going upstairs and we can spend some time together and see a good movie,' she said. 'So I don't know, those are two proposals and you can

Monica Lewinsky's rabbi gives benediction after Bill Clinton's DNC speech

Monica Lewinsky's former rabbi who publicly condemned Bill Clinton during the sex scandal gave the benediction minutes after the former President took the stage at the Democratic National Convention tonight.

awkward pairing was likely overlooked by organizers because Rabbi David Wolpe is such a well-known figure in the Jewish community.
Time may not have healed all wounds, however, as Rabbi Wolpe was very critical of Mr Clinton throughout the scandal and wrote an op-ed three years ago reiterating those feelings.
The Lewinskys attended the Rabbi's Sinai Temple in Los Angeles for years and Monica went to its affiliated Sinai Akiba Academy religious school before heading to college, and eventually, the White House.
As the then-22-year-old intern's name became a national buzzword for having repeated sexual encounters with the then-President, her Rabbi came to her defense and criticized Mr Clinton.
'He was a brilliant, talented, extraordinary child, and for the leader of the United States we need an adult,' the Associated Press reported Rabbi Wolpe saying in a synagogue service around the time of the 1998 scandal.
That ferocity dimmed slightly in the following decade, but it didn't disappear completely.
In a column about another politician's affair, Rabbi Wolpe brought up Clinton again saying that it was more the cover up and slander that brought the disgrace with that instance.
