कोरिया जिले के चिरमिरी एस ई सी एल क्षेत्र के लिए 6 मई कला दिवश के रूप में देखा जाता है।आज के ही दिन चिरमिरी में 6 मई 2010 चिरमिरी सहित पुरे कोल इण्डिया का सबसे बड़ा काले दिन के रूप में मनाया जाने वाला दिन है। पिछले 8 वर्ष पूर्व आज के ही दिन 6 मई 2010 को शहर के बरतुंगा कॉलरी स्थित अंजन हिल भूमिगत खदान के रूप में संचालित कोयला खदान जिसमे कार्य के दौरान शहर के कुल 16 कॉलरी कर्मियो की मौत के साथ दर्जनों की संख्या में कॉलरी कर्मियों को अपनी चपेट में ले लिया था
