A case of firing by a tourist has come to light at Sanwara Toll Plaza on Kalka-Shimla National Highway-5. The accused tourist fired two shots in the air from his pistol. However, no one was injured in the incident. The police have caught the accused and investigation into the case is ongoing.

ദേശീയപാതകളിലെ ടോള്‍ പിരിവുനയം നവീകരിക്കാന്‍ കേന്ദ്രസര്‍ക്കാരിന്റെ പദ്ധതി.
രണ്ടു ടോള്‍ പ്ലാസകള്‍ക്കിടയിലുള്ള ദൂരത്തിന് മുഴുവനായി ടോള്‍ അടയ്‌ക്കേണ്ടിവരുന്ന നിലവിലെ രീതിക്കുപകരം യാത്രചെയ്യുന്ന ദൂരത്തിനുമാത്രം ടോള്‍ നല്‍കുകയെന്നതാണ് പരിഗണിക്കുന്നത്.
60 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ഇടവിട്ടാണ് നിലവില്‍ ടോള്‍ പ്ലാസകളുള്ളത്. എന്നാല്‍, വളരെക്കുറച്ചു ദൂരം സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നവരും ഇപ്പോള്‍ 60 കിലോമീറ്ററിനുള്ള ടോള്‍ നല്‍കേണ്ടിവരുന്നുണ്ട്.
മൂന്നുമാസത്തിനകം പുതിയ നയം തയ്യാറാകുമെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്.
നഗരങ്ങള്‍ക്കുപുറത്ത് ടോള്‍ പ്ലാസകള്‍ നിര്‍മിക്കുന്ന കാര്യവും പരിഗണിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. പ്രതിഷേധം ഒഴിവാക്കുന്നതിനും നാലുവരിയില്‍ താഴെയുള്ള പാതകളിലും തിരക്കുപിടിച്ച വഴികളിലും ടോള്‍പിരിവ് സമയബന്ധിതമായി പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കുന്നതിനുമാണിത്.ആവശ്യമായ സൗകര്യങ്ങളൊരുക്കി ഇലക്ട്രോണിക് രീതിയില്‍ ടോള്‍പിരിവ് നടത്തുന്നതിന് ഊന്നല്‍ നല്‍കുമെന്നും സ്മാര്‍ട്ട് ടാഗ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്ക് അടവില്‍ സ്ഥിരമായ കിഴിവ് നല്‍കുമെന്നും ദേശീയപാതാ മന്ത്രാലയകേന്ദ്രങ്ങള്‍ അറിയിച്ചു.
