A moderate but widespread earthquake rolled through Southern California on Monday morning, leaving buildings swaying from San Diego to Los Angeles, as well as San Bernardino and Orange counties.

The 9:55 a.m. quake was originally reported as a 5.1, but was then downgraded to a 4.7, according to Nick Scheckel of the California Institute of Technology's seismological laboratory in Pasadena. Its epicenter was about 100 miles southeast of Los Angeles, near the desert community of Anza.

While the quake didn't cause any damage, according to initial reports, it did spark plenty of Tweets.
