At least 10 people have been killed in a train crash in Spain, according to reports.
Spanish newspapers said carriages derailed as the train approached a station in the city of Santiago de Compostela, a popular place of pilgrimage in the northwestern region of Galicia.
One Spanish website, ABC.es, carried a picture showing several carriages which had rolled over at the side of the tracks, with flames and smoke seen rising from the front carriage.
Bill Bond, a journalist in Spain, told Sky News there were reports of at least 50 injured people.
The train was travelling from Madrid to the port city of Ferrol.
It happened at about 8.40pm local time - 7.40pm UK time - on a bend a short distance from a scheduled stop in the city.
The cause of the crash is not yet known.

Ukrainian actress Mila Kunis has worked with “127 Hours” star James Franco several times and has known him for years. Now, Franco's 'Oz the Great and Powerful' co-star Mila Kunis has revealed that the 34-year-old jack-of-all-traits might be a sadist.
The actress has known him for seven years now, ever since they worked on “The Hills with James Franco and Mila Kunis.”
'I think we've done eight films together,' she said to MTV about Franco. 'I'm used to this.'
Before working on “Oz,” they last appeared as a romantic couple in the 2010 Steve Carell and Tina Fey comedy 'Date Night.'
